Jets resume their slide in power rankings

Admin - November 3, 2009

As expected, the loss to the Miami Dolphins lowered the Gang Green's position in the latest power rankings from the top 3 sports websites. ESPN had them down 3 spots (from #15 to #18). CBS Sports lowered the Jets' stock by 4 points (from #15 to #19). FOX Sports had the Jets down by 2 spots (from #13 to #15).

Here's what the top 3 websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN:  If the Jets were to win a national lottery, the winning ticket would fly out of their office and land with the Dolphins.

FOX Sports: So much for that all-NYC Super Bowl, eh? Now the Giants have dropped three straight, and for the Jets it's four losses in their last five games. Maybe the Jets' defenders should stop talking so much junk about Miami's wildcat offense, considering the Dolphins scored 31 and 30 in two wins over the Jets. The rest of the league? Just 12 points per game. Granted, Ted Ginn's kick returns factored in, but maybe it's time to go the anti-Rex Ryan route with the press clippings.

CBS Sports: There is no way they should have lost to the Dolphins at home, but at 4-4 they have been way too inconsistent. How about some special-teams work this week?
