Player Contracts

No new deals for Revis and Mangold

Admin - March 1, 2010

According to the Star Ledger, CB Darrelle Revis and C Nick Mangold will probably have to wait until the 2010 season is over before they receive their contract extensions. Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum met with the representatives of both players at the NFL Scouting Combine, but a new deal isn't imminent for either player, according to two people with knowledge of the talks who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they're not authorized to speak publicly.

Revis, a two-time Pro Bowler, has one year left on his rookie contract, a six-year, $36M deal ($11M guaranteed) that can be voided to four years. He is scheduled to earn a $550,000 base salary in 2010 and a $100,000 workout bonus.

Mangold, who has publicly lobbied for a new deal, is scheduled to earn a $3.3M base salary next season plus a $320,000 workout bonus.
