ESPN drops Jets outside top 3 despite another win

Admin - November 23, 2010

It appears that the Jets just can't get love from ESPN. Just like after the overtime win against the Lions, ESPN lowered their ranking again despite another win. Apparently ESPN experts thought that Baltimore's (moved from #4 to #3) win against the hopeless Panthers had more value than the Gang Green's last minute defeat of Houston. So, ESPN dropped them from #3 to #4. Both FOX Sports and CBS Sports kept their valuation of the Jets unchanged - #1 and #2 respectively.

Here's what the top 3 websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN:  Santonio Holmes is replacing Mariano Rivera as New York's best closer.

FOX Sports: Well, the Jets found a way to hold the No. 1 spot, but barely. You have to give them credit for finding a way to win the close games. However, that could come back to bite them in the end. They may be the NFL's top team right now, but they are far from dominant.

CBS Sports: Winning close games is a tough way to make a living. But they are finding a way.
