Jets looking to replace Folk

Admin - November 30, 2010

According to ESPN, the New York Jets are looking into possibilities of replacing struggling PK Nick Folk who has missed 5 of his last 10 field goal attempts. Last Thursday he missed a 44-year attempt, almost missed an extra point and came up short on three kickoffs. The week before Folk missed 3 field goals against the Cleveland Browns.

Later today the Gang Green are scheduled to work out PK Kris Brown who was cut on November 23rd by the San Diego Chargers, for whom he kicked in three games. He made 4 of 5 field goals. He has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans in a 12-year career, but lost his job in Houston in the preseason to Neil Rackers. Brown is a 77 percent career kicker on field goals.

It's unclear if the Jets are looking to sign Brown. The team may be looking into contingency options, or trying to send notice to Folk.
