Jets lose top spot in latest FOX power rankings

Admin - November 30, 2010

Last week it was ESPN who lowered the Jets' ranking despite another win, this week the Gang Green received no love from FOX Sports, who put the Jets two places down after keeping them at the top for last two weeks. The New York Jets are now #3 in the latest FOX Sports poll (#1 last week). ESPN put the Jets back in #3 (#4 a week ago), while their CBS Sports ranking remained unchanged - #2.

Here's what the top 3 websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN:  Rex Ryan said the Jets were built to beat the Patriots. Even after doing it earlier this season, they must beat New England on Monday night to prove it.

FOX Sports: I was totally unimpressed with their performance on offense against the lowly Bengals last week. They should have torched a badly injured defense but came up woefully short in the passing game. And they can't use the weather as an excuse. While the Jets won that game, I think we learned the Falcons are a just a bit better than them. And can we stop this nonsense about Mark Sanchez for MVP? Please. Sure, he has been much-improved this season, but let's get serious. I haven't talked to one person I respect in the NFL who thinks he deserves consideration.

CBS Sports: They get what they've wanted all along, a showdown with the Patriots for the division lead. Let's see if they can back up all that cockiness.
