Jets Win But Writers Not Impressed

Last Sunday's win in Miami caused mixed reactions among the pundits who write up weekly power rankings for the top sports/football websites. As expected, none of them was particularly impressed with the Jets' overtime victory, but Brian Billick of FOX Sports went as far as lowering the Gang Green's position (from #17 to #19), despite the win. ProFootballWeekly kept the Jets right where they were a week ago, at #17. ESPN moved them one spot up - from #18 to #17. CBS Sports and ProFootballTalk both raised the Gang Green's stock from #19 to #15.

Here's what all these websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN: The defense has failed to pick off a pass the past two seasons when Darrelle Revis isn't on the field.

FOX Sports: Don't let the Jets' win on Sunday confuse you, they still looked awful. I'm not sure if that says more about the Jets or the Dolphins… Oh yeah, Darrelle Revis is out for the year too.

CBS Sports: Don't look now, but they are 2-1 with two division victories. Why don't I feel better about them then?

ProFootballTalk: Rex Ryan’s demeanor on Monday sent a clear message:  "Just.  End.  The.  Season."

ProFootballWeekly: Can't overstate the impact of losing a player like Darrelle Revis.

Blah blah blah. Nobody cares what those clowns say about the Jets. They are playing better than the Packers, Patriots and Saints, but people aren't discounting them in the least. Mark Sanchez played a better game against the phins, than Rodgers did against the Seahawks. Look at Flacco last night. He looked just like Sanchez in the phins game. They managed to score the same amount with a pick 6 as well and an INT in the endzone. It was almost identicle to the Jets - phins games but nobody is discounting Flacco or the Ravens, despite them barely beating the Browns. Too funny.
