Jets go back down in power rankings

After rapidly rising in power rankings a week ago, the New York Jets went back down, following their embarrassing loss at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. CNN SI's response was the harshest, as they dropped the Jets' stock by a whooping 7 points (from #19 to #26). Both CBS Sports and FOX Sports lowered the Gang Green's rankings by 3 points (from #17 to #20 and from #18 to #21 respectively). ESPN placed the Jets at #22 (down from #18 a week ago). Finally, ProFootballTalk, who had Rex Ryan's team at #24 a week ago, put them at #25 this week.

Here's what all these websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN: Geno Smith was sacked, lost a fumble, or threw an interception on eight of 40 drop-backs Sunday. Only the Giants (16) have more turnovers as a team than Smith (11) has this season.

FOX Sports: I said it on Twitter last week: I think the Jets limp into their bye week with a 3-6 record.

CBS Sports: At .500, they have done some good and some bad. That's the way it will be with a rookie quarterback.

ProFootballTalk: From Mark Sanchez’s butt fumble to Geno Smith’s fumble off his butt, the Jets keep finding new ways to create turnovers with an assist from an ass.

CNN SI: Geno Smith wrapped his West Virginia career by throwing for 42 touchdowns and just six interceptions last season. He's already surpassed the latter number in four games with the Jets -- eight picks plus a fumble lost has him at a much-too-high nine turnovers.
