Jets continue their fall in power rankings

Admin - December 4, 2013

Following yet another blowout loss last Sunday, the Gang Green's position in power rankings predictably continued on its downward path. ESPN and CBS Sports were the merciful ones, lowering the Jets' stock by just one point. Both websites placed Rex Ryan's team at #23 (down from #22 last week). ProFootballTalk also had the Jets at #23 (down from #21 last week). FOX Sports fared the Jets a little higher - #22 (from #20 last week). Finally, CNN SI was absolutely brutal, placing the Jets at #30 (down from #25 last week).

Here's what all these websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN: Yikes. Geno Smith's numbers against the blitz (49.2 completion percentage, 6.8 yards per attempt) are almost identical to Mark Sanchez's in 2012 (49.7, 6.7).

FOX Sports: The Jets had just 39 yards of total offense in the first half on Sunday and Geno Smith added another interception to make it 23 giveaways for him on the season.

CBS Sports: Geno Smith is staying in as quarterback. Does that mean they are tanking the season?

ProFootballTalk: Is it too late to bring back Tim Tebow?

CNN SI: Twenty-three teams scored 20 or more points in Week 13. The reeling Jets have 20 points total over their past three games, predictably all losses, including a nightmarish 23-3 setback Sunday against the Dolphins.
