Training Camp

Offense shines on Day 2 but real stuff begins on Saturday

Admin - July 26, 2019

On the final day before the pads come on tomorrow, Sam Darnold got his offense going with several downfield strikes to Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa. Enunwa, who missed five games last season, caught 50 and 40 yard passes and was truly the star of Day 2.

On the defensive side CB Brian Poole practiced for the first time after being activated from the non-football injury list. He had a pretty good practice, forcing two fumbles. Poole, who had a career-high 74 tackles, 3 INTs and 3.0 sacks with the Falcons in 2018, also broke up a third down pass intended for WR Jamison Crowder.

The defense is going to get a big boost on Saturday, as first round pick, DT Quinnen Williams, will practice for the first time. Williams, who missed Thursday's practice due to a contract dispute, was in camp today but did not participate. He only ran the team conditioning test in the morning. Williams signed a 4-year deal for $32.529M, which also includes a $21.677M signing bonus.

As the season approaches, SBG Global Sportsbook is definitely a place to place bets on the NFL games. The Jets are favored by 3 points in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills on September 8th. They are +600 to win the AFC East and +2550 to make it to the Super Bowl.

Tomorrow's practice will also be the first one open to the public. The gates will open at 7:30 a.m., about an hour before the start of the practice session. Sunday's session will be open to the public as well. Then, on August 2nd, the Jets will have their annual Green & White Practice Scrimmage at HighPoint.com Stadium at Rutgers University.
