On with Mike and Mike, praising Kris, saying he's a beast throwing off double teams, stuffing the run, getting some sacks, creating good push and definitely should be a Pro Bowler...good stuff Stink...
He is getting better every week. The whole DL is. Now if Gholston could show up for just one week. He and Pace could dominate.
Thomas and Pace have been dominate. Gholston has time to pick it up because he is not needed to make our OLBs very good.
I wholeheartedly disagree....Pace may not have as many sacks, but has been all over the field making tackles and disrupting plays, something that Thomas has also been doing, but not nearly on at same rate as Pace.
No, but then we didn't just pay Thomas 30 or 40 million bucks or whatever it was. That should tell you there is certainly something wrong with Gholston if he can't start after 8 weeks. I don't think we drafted him at #6 to be a backup this year. You do that in the 3rd round.
Why do you care how much he gets paid? Our front 7 has been outstanding giving us the luxury of letting Gholston soak everything in at a slow pace.
Yeah I agree w/ you. Pace is all over the place and is a BIG reason for our success against the run. He's a monster at sealing the edge. BT is playing very well too, but aside from sacks..he isn't outplaying Pace by any stretch of the imagination
To this point in his career, Thomas has been an every other year kinda guy. If he keeps it up then we need Gholston to be ready next season. If not, then he has plenty of time to sit back and learn so we that we have a beasty insurance policy in case one of our guys gets hurt.
Ive always liked Schlereth. An he's right , Jenkins is an absolute windebeast. Best NT in the NFL (Maybe except for Haynesworth)
The Job Hanynesworth andJenkins do are very different. Jenkinds is great for the 3-4. Hanynesworth may be able to get it done and has the size to do it, but would not be the rock Jenkins is in that role do to the 40+ pound difference they have. That said but may be the best 4-3 DT in football ATM and is a terror inside. Both men excel at thier current roles.
Personally I think Haynesworth would be best at 3-4 DE if he played in a 3-4. Not that he couldn't handle NT or anything...just his height makes him a very good 3-4 DE candidate. If I had to pick a starting NT for a 3-4 between them, I'd pick Jenkins. Both are the kinds of guys who can play any position on the 3-4 DL in any situation anyway. Hopefully Jenkins gets the credit he should get when this season is done.
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Kris Jenkins play, and dominate, most of his career in a 4-3 defense? I am sure Haynesworth would be pretty dominate in a 3-4. The guy already needs three guys to block him.
