The "genius" is presently 1-5 including the PO loss to the "brain". I am sure Woody did not hire him to continue to lose to Belly just like Herm did before him. I would hope that Mangini comes out with a unusual game plan that suprises the Pats ala what Maimi did to them as well have the NYJs totally inspired & completely up for the game. If we lose the game Woody should be begin looking deep & hard at replacing a almost rookie coach who it appears cannot win games that really count
8======D ~~ (. ) ( .) even if we lose this game: it. is. not. the. end. of. the. world. not even close.
It is just another division game on the road. A big one, but not a "statement" If Brady and the Pats were at 100% I would agree.
Actually, I think he only hired him because he was the cheapest slob around just like Herm was before him.
Ha, Mangina with a surprising game plan? That made me lol. Hes going to play just like the last time these teams met, NOT TO LOSE. Hes going to try to keep the margin of loss low instead of going for the jugular.
champ makes an appearance! Get a good look, everyone, because if we win tonight he's off on "vacation" for the next 10-14 days.
That's the thing. If we can't beat the broken down Pats, we know we're not ready to compete for a Super Bowl yet. Don't matter, we're fuckin winning tonight.
Bad game plan and that's what I always worry about with Mangini calling the shots. Oakland can't stop anybody on the ground so Mangini decides to be tricky and throw the ball every down we had. Brilliant!
We had a nice practice game last week while New England played a real physical game vs. the Bills. NO EXCUSES. This is the season I really don't give a fuck about the cliche's "oh one game doesn't make a season" bull fucking shit. The pieces are in place, we're more rested and more talented. Brett Favre vs. Matt Cassell? This is the season, this is where we figure out if we're pretenders or contenders.
:rofl: Truer words were never spoken. Champ is putting the full value of his all his penny stocks on the Jets taking it in the ass to the Pats tonight. It will be a tough game though and Mangini will need to bring his A game tonight and fire up the team.
A Jet win and the continuing plummet of the stock market might send champ over the edge. BIHW might have to finish out the season for him.
It is a statement game in the sense that if Mangini can't even overcome a Patriots team at 70% with a roster as talented as the Jets have right now... how the hell is he ever supposed to do it when Brady and co. are back and at full strength? I agree with Champ, if Mangini can't get the job done tonight, then we need to look elsewhere because he isn't the right fit for the job... if he does get it done though, then I'm looking forward to a very fun rest of the season.
depending on field position - the jets first couple drives will likely feature a no huddle or 2. i would imagine the pats will do the same to gas jenkins..... if the weather is as bad as advertised it will favor the short passing game which probably benefits both teams. it does however slow down that little bug welker. jil edit - realized what i posted has nothing to do about mangini and his statement game but so what.
If we lose this game, we are not going to make the playoffs, Clemens or Ratliff will start next year, Sutton and Shotty are gone next year and Mangini will be a lame duck coach soon after that. This is not just a game, this is literally the begining or the end of this team as its currently constructed.
You are late on that I was on vacation & watch the Bills game in my room in LA. Guess that wi-fi laptop worked so well nobody noticed I was gone
I don't see how the importance of this game can be overstated. A loss here, at least for the fans you have to wonder where the pleasure would be in the rest of the season? Even were they to bounce back and beat the Tits, so what? They would have lost two games to the Matt Cassell led Cheatriots. That would put a very low ceiling on the pleasure of the remaining season no matter what else happened. Playoffs? After a loss tonight? Playoffs? More like find some more projects to do around the house and forget about football for the foreseeable future. I don't see how you can say this game is not huge. I think that's mostly people fearful of this game, as I am, telling themselves their lives will not be adversely effected, which it will if you are a real fan of the Jets. How long did it take you to get over the Spike Game? For older fans, the Tarp Game? The 98 Champ Game? Other games fit that list, imo, as I would also throw in there the loss to Pitt Game. Answer - not over them yet. A loss tonight merely adds to the already excrutiating pain. No thanks. Gotta win it.
