It was a helluva catch and throw. Despite beating the Pats, anyone with an ounce of footballing savvy knows that the Pats are a STILL a very good team. With all the injuries and missing key players, they still ran us THAT close.
No way the refs could take that TD off the board. It is debatable, but the call on the field needed to stand.
Had that catch been called incomplete. Its stuff like that i hate about the NFL. Let them play. Fantastic throw and catch.
Dude don't you know that 52" plasma (muscle flex) televisions have a feature where you can actually get the camera angle from anywhere? It has a joystick on the remote and you can navigate to anywhere you want to look at it was clear that his foot was "at least 2 inches off the ground." It's similar to the Madden replay system where you can get ANY angle during ANY point of the play. 52 inch plazmuz FTMFW!
It was too close to overturn - the thing that looked wrong to me on the play however: one of the NE linemen were downfield on the throw. The lineman thought Cassell was going to scramble and started to get downfield to block. It's a moot point - but a foul that seems to be missed pretty often by the officials imo.
That picture clearly shows both his feet were down. BUT what catches my eye is whats in the background. You see number 24, maybe our best player, who has already saved 2 games for us, fifteen yards in front of the endzone. I dont get it.
wrong angle that angle is inconclusive the front shot shows it better, that is the shot of the ball touching his fingers . Show the next 2 frames where he is supposed to demonstrate possesion. And it is clearly eveident that his foot is in the air
Wow didnt mean to sound like a douchebag about TV, just figured i would say what I was watching it on to clarify what I saw. Nevermind ....we won who gives a F%^k
im gonna guess he was on welker but i haven't watched the replay to see that. the announcers called that play perfectly though. they had been pressing moss at the line and he was barely attempting to get off the line. why law was either told to, or decided to back off moss i cant understand.
may i ask.....why are we still all debating this.....I know my tv said 34-31 at 1145pm thursday night
gotta talk about something dude. we have ten days until the next game. and while the win is great the jets played far from a perfect game. so people are gonna look at the bad and see if it is fixed for the next game. its just the nature of a message board that the fans are gonna look more at negative things than the positive. it gets boring if everyone is just posting about how great the team is all the time. this was a huge play. some people thought it was incomplete. others are mad about the way they defended. its worth discussing.
There is nothing wrong about the angle in the pic, he has possession right there with both his feet down, end of discussion. We already know from watching the play that he doesn't lose possession once he gets it. It was a great play at a clutch moment that we ended up overcoming but it was definetely the right call.
i wasn't offended. i dont think anyone was. you asked a question i tried to answer it. no harm no foul.
