You know what, even if the Jets run the table and lock up the playoffs week 15, Miami... specifically Chad... could still come back into the Meadowlands week 17 and ruin this season for us.
He could but the odds are against it. He never beats the superior team and in my opinion the Jets are the superior team man for man at this point. What I'm worried about is the Dolphins rolling into the Meadowlands at 11-4 if they beat the Pats this week. They have @St Louis, @Buffalo, San Francisco, @Kansas City left and then the Jets. If they come in at 11-4 to our 10-5 the pressure is going to be amazing.
True. That would also make for an incredible last home game, especially for people like me who are dropping their tickets after this year. Would be a great curtain call if they pulled it out.
If we beat the titans i doubt we will have 5 losses, I also doubt miami going the rest of the way without another loss
i love this board. we have talk of going to the super bowl and talk of firing half the coaching staff and we have only played ten games. lets just see where the rest of the season takes us before we talk about any of it.
The ideal season would be firing the coaching staff after winning the Super Bowl... (Disclaimer: Not serious)
I remember that 1986 season. oohhhhh...what could have been. The end was so bad Ken O'Brien was BENCHED! ugh And yet, we still had a great chance to make it to the AFC Championship Game.
If O'Brien had been benched 4 weeks earlier while his finger was injured, we probably could have picked up a game or two, and had home playoff games.
The Giants' loss to the Browns is the same kind of thing, I think. It's VERY likely that both teams will be playoff teams. However, once you hit the playoffs you have to combine the two sports cliches of "any given Sunday" and "win or go home." Once the playoffs start all bets are off, IMO. The Giants will probably have a division rival to play and will also meet some other NFC competition. The Jets may also have a division rival to play and have stiff competition in the Titans and Steelers. It's gonna be hell come January.
the only way we stand any chance is to sort this inconsistancy in play out. Great first quarter then rubbish for most of the rest of the game
