#1 Key to the game for the Jets! - PRESSURE COLLINS!!

I think it will be a very even game in the trenches in terms of running the ball. If anyone remembers Kerry Collins' days with the Giants, you beat him by pressuring him into making mistakes. We got no pressure on Cassel last week and that's why he lit us up for 400 yards passing. We must pressure Kerry Collins more than we pressured Cassel or I don't think we will win this game.

I agree. I would love to see more of the safety blitzes from Elam and Rhodes especially if we get an early lead.

Getting to him has been no easy task so far. Through 11 weeks he has only been sacked 5 times. Hopefully Mangini and Sutton can come up with some schemes to pressure him.

Exactly which is why they are undefeated. We must sack him at least once or twice in this game or at least hurry him all over the field to make him throw the ball earlier than he wants to.

We may not sack him, but we will have to apply pressure on long yardage situations in order to give our secondary a fighting chance. I'm really not worried too much about the offense although BS does have a bad habit of being just a bit predictable against quality defenses. It's the other BS I'm concerned with today. Sutton far too often plays it safe and puts our defense in reaction mode instead of attack mode.

Kerry Rhodes gets a sack from the outside this weekend, I'm calling it right now.

I think the #1 key is TURNOVERS. The Titans have a very stingy defense; turnovers on either side in this game will be HUGE! Also, we need to put some pressure on their defense early...get them on their heels.

we didn't get pressure in NE because we played to much double coverage on Welker and moss so they didn't take chances. Also Jenkins was shoved to the sideline during NE no huddle atthe start of the third. i think our corners can cover the Tenn WR without ridiculous help which should allow some additional pressure.

The game will come down to turnovers in the end though

The Jets need to limit big plays by players like Justin Gage and Bo Scaife. Last week these players came up big. If we can stop the run, Tennessee is usually very methodical and doesn't mind playing the field position game. Offensively, we need to be agressive and smart with the football. If our passing game can set up the run, I think we can move the ball. If we play too conservative, it will be tough.

Jenkins vs. Mawae is a big matchup.

Also, I believe (could Be wrong) but, this is the first game TEN has played against a 3-4 defense. So picking up the blitz packages the Jets send could pose a problem.

the Titans faced the Ravens, they employ a 3-4 scheme and they lost by 3 pts. The Ravens have Joe Flacco, the Jets have Brett Favre.

    I like this game.

The Ravens have Ray Lewis, the Jets have Eric Barton.

I was a bit credulous about this comparison, so I went to look at the numbers:

    Rk_____Player_________Team_____Pos_____Total__Solo___Ast_____Sck____SFTY___PDef___Int___TDs___Yds_____Lng____FF____Rec____TD
    20_____Eric Barton_____NYJ_____ILB_____73_____57_____16_____1.5_____--_____--_____--_____--_____--_____--_____1_____1_____0
    20_____Ray Lewis_______BAL_____ILB_____73_____53_____20_____1.0_____--_____11_____3_____0_____43______29_____1_____--_____--

    The difference is pass defense.

So the only difference between Barton and Lewis is pass defense?

Nope. Stats don't tell us where tackles are made, how other teams game plan because of other players, leadership, ability to setup team mates in the right position prior to the play, intimidation factor, all sorts of things.

The difference between Ray Lewis and Eric Barton is far more than just pass defense.

I have to disagree with all of you. I think the key is stopping the run with Jenkins. Collins has been asked to shoulder the load the last two weeks, but the Titans are a running team at heart. Shut down that run by having Jenkins hold the middle. Force Collins to beat you and trust your defensive backfield to make plays. I also think that if Jenkins can shut down the run and apply pressure (even if only moderately so) in the face of Collins you will see the "bad Kerry" that Giants fans know and...know.

The Jets have put the ball on the ground 14 times and have thrown 13 picks.

The Titan have put the ball on the ground 10 times and have thrown 6 picks.

    The Jets have 24 takeaways.

    The Titans have 25 takeaways.

I'm thinking stickum on Brett's hands, and our D continue to produce results.

The key there is trusting your defensive backfield to make plays. After last week, do you?

I like Barton a lot but if you're comparing Ray Lewis to Eric Barton, the fact that they both play linebacker is where that comparison ends.
