funny you should say that.... Cassel is on the front page of SI.com's football page, thanks to Peter King's MMQB. Its one thing to like a team as a reporter, but to make it so obvious its embarrassing discredits him.
you guys do realize that King is Favre's #2 Fan (#1 being Madden). So while you guys do all this talk about King blowing Patriots and Brady and such, A lot of other people talk about how King can't get off Favre's nuts. So now SI has this interesting thing going by having Peter King who is no fan of the Jets but loves Favre, and Zimmerman who is no fan of Favre but is a fan of the Jets (not to the degree of King to Favre or the Pats though).

I was wondering why you guys criticize King so much. Then I looked up his bio and read that he was born in Massachusetts. It all makes sense now.
Peter King and Bob Ryan should be butt-buddies. On around the horn today Bob 'Boston Globe' Ryan said the Titans were due for a letdown AND said the PATS had a brainfart on 3rd & 15 in OT, if they didn't they would have scored and beat us in OT..... UNBELIEVABLE.
I'm not. I'm disagreeing with your praise of Peter King. Pretty simple, but I think you're misreading things....
and its blatantly obvious that he cannot be an objective professional and not knock this franchise or obsess over any Boston team. There are times where I feel he is just a good writer blogging about his favorite teams but its read through a national outlet in SI.
It has nothing to do with him being born in MA. It's the content of his articles. He's very anti-Jets. New Yorkers are not anti-Boston. Most of us don't care either way. Bostonians on the other hand are fixated on New York and trying to show them up. I know, I've lived in both places.
Its the exact reason why I look down upon those people. They attack our teams and city because of all the heartbreak we've caused them. Their like a little child that hates the bigger kid because the bigger kid is cooler and better than him. Its so sad, those people have nothing to live for.
Why wouldn't you guys be anti-Boston? I would. I freakin' hate Minnesota as they're our rival in most sports. I'd think it would be no different for you guys, and the media gives the impression that there's no love between the two cities. Anyways....I don't read enough of Peter King to form an accurate assessment of him. I have observed enough of Peter Gammons' baseball coverage to know that he's unbiased in his baseball analysis, and he as you probably already know is a Boston fan/native. I guess they all can't be like Gammons though. That douchebag Bob Ryan is terribly biased as well.
First, off, please don't ever listen to what the media says. They want to make trouble so they have crap to cover and sell.... Don't get me wrong. I find many of the Boston-area team FANS annoying as hell, but I have no problem with Boston. I drive up, visit friends and *gasp*, my family has owned season ticket for the Pats for nearly two decades. Don't worry, got em for the Jets too. I actually cheered for the Celtics when they we're playing the Lakers. I bet you'll hardly find a 'Bostonian' willing to cheer for any New York team. Too insecure I suppose. :shrug:
i just love how all the "experts" predicting the playoff picture all had the titans over the jets. it didnt say what score they thought it would be but to have this team absolutely dismantle the titans on the road really must make them eat their words.
The titans from Tennesse's running game has gone from unstoppable to suspect in three short weeks and their defense has allowed 2 400+ offensive outputs (Packers and the Jets) in 4 weeks. If the titans from Tennesee are #1 in POs and lose say to winner of Divisional game after bye (think about the Cowboys of 07) and #2 wins- #2 becomes #1 and a Home AFCChampionship game. Go Jets beat Broncos get #2- OMG the third playoff-like game in a row! Is this seasoning or what? I believe Brett but that comment on the Titans being good was to avoid bulletin board fodder. What is he going to say to the media: "they were not what we expected them to be and we DID NOT let them off the hook"? Im sure he would have gotten out or not signed that stupi do not play / marketing agreement/ BRIBE and the BUCS were actually lukewarm on him (offering not more than a 7th unconditional) and the Packers really did not want to send him to Tampa who they played in week 4 or 5 (were asking for a unconditional 1st and some money).
I agree with this, no one in NYC gives a crap about Boston. But trying being an upstater in the City.
