http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80d58828 At 3:05 Cimini says that privately players say they are being outschemed by opposing teams.
So is the scheme to hold the running back up until he's gained another five yards after contact? Is the scheme to drop passes? Good grief - these coaches must be crazy to come up with schemes like that!
No, but it's the scheme that results in players coming wide open in the flat over and over. It's the scheme that results in poor matchups in the defensive backfield. It's the scheme that results in our blitzes being easily picked up. It's the scheme that results in the middle of the field coming wide open and allowing the QB to run for a first down. I can go on and on. There have been momentary lapses in execution. But the stuff we see game, after game, after game is the result of coaching.
Winner. Just to beat a dead horse, Eric Mangini can not or will not make adjustments during a game. If Mangini were a race car driver he'd put it right into the wall ever time he went into a bend.
Partially, yes. When the Jets defenders are being sealed away without more heat coming then it is rather easy for the opposition to push defenses around and create the holes they need to create. When a defense brings proper pressure and penetration against the opposing line, the mistakes magically get cut down dramatically, and the hurries, sacks, and turnovers increase exponentially.
You can continue to make excuses for this staff as long as you want but the bottom line is that they are their players. They picked them, they drafted them and they coach them. If tackles are missed it is because either they chose the wrong players or they haven't taught them how to do their job. Take your pick but it is entirely their fault.
Bingo. Not to mention, when players are out of position, they end up having to reach, and arm tackle. Therefore, poor schemes almost always leads to missed tackles.
So the guys that were a top 3 Run-D and played great against the best Rushingattack now miss all those tackles, because of bad coaching between week 12 and week 13? Makes sense. btw, I´m already on the Fire Sutton Bandwagon. He sucks, but you should first do you own job, before you critizise someone else for the way he does his.
Yeah, I believe it is the CS fault. As you point out yourself one week they are great and the next they suck. You don't lose the ability overnight so something else is at work here. Did they quit? I don't think so. So what is it? Are they out of position? Probably.
So it?s the coaches fault, that they suddenly forget how to tackle? Those guys get millions of dollars to play Football, because they are some of the best in the world at it, and they fail at one of the moste basical aspects of the game and then call out the sceme. Give me a break.
Exactly. Is it the scheme's fault these guys aren't fighting off blocks? Is it the scheme's fault they are whiffing badly on tackles. The players have not played well the last three games. Sure you can blame some of it on scheme and playcalling, but the execution has been horrible.
Sounds like he comes here, reads what we say, writes about it and gets paid for it. Pretty much what everyone in the Media does. Fuk off Cimini. We've been saying that shit for months!
Most of you are a bunch of morons. This is the same scheme the Patriots used to win super bowls. The coaches are decendents of parcells. The players make the plays. Thye players miss the tackles. Noone was saying this shit aftert the Tennessee game. Its a long season we had a few bad games. We won one of them. The season has been a huge success. lets go out and root our team down the stretch.
