All the things that were good in year one have gone:

In the first year -- there was hardly a fourth down he would not go on? Yesterday -- I thought the game was lost when they didnt go on the first drive. It was not like they ran three times in the line -- the seahawks were not stopping them. Made no sense.

Second, he seemed to be ahead of the curve on everyone. He knew the rules -- he had his players smarter than everyone. Now they literally have become the easiest team in the NFL to prepare for -- other coaches can say -- this is what they do -- they will not change -- dont worry. Not on offense; not on defense.

He was always stupid, there was never any hope, resisting this idea is futile.

Wrong. THe first year -- all of the things you hate now -- he didnt do. He was not conservative at all. He always looked for the edge. Now == consistency == has meant absolutle refusal to make any change of any kind ever.

I was a huge Mangini fan at first. Now, I am starting to lean against, But Ever so slightly.

In My Opinion, As the year has gone on, He has tried to become more and more cerebrial. Just trying to make the week of practice count for Sunday's game. "Oh we lost", we will practice better etc. etc.

The problem is that when the game comes, they do not respond well to adverse conditions. Take a team like Pittsburgh...I know they are better than us, but it just SEEMS that even if they are up against it, they still play with fire and poise.

Sara Palin could have done a better job getting this team ready to play yesterday.

It's a two way street. If the players can't execute what they've been practicing...what makes you think they'll be able to adjust off of that?

I agree with you, believe me. I just think too much blame is being heaped on 3 guys who never even touch the fucking ball on Sundays. I agree that Mangini's making some pussy decisions now, but in '06 he had free reign to do whatever he wanted and get away with it. If it worked, he was a genius. It it didn't, fuck it it wasn't supposed to because any good thing that came out of '06 was icing.

He's got to go back to coaching balls out. I think he can and will, because he's done it before. The team needs to step it up as a whole.

If we left the play calling to Madden '09, we would have won.

Remeber all of the motivation we used to hear about in 06. The guest speakers and the pregame boxing matches. Where did all that go? If there is a difference between this year and 06 it is motivation. There is a tremendous lack of fire.

Your right, but the way he motivated the team on 06, was for a bunch of young guys and newcomers building a program. You can only so that so long. Same thing happened with Herm, The RAH RAH only works for so long before the players tune them out. Either way of doing things will always work if your coach has a Winning Track record like Cowher, Parcells etc. Then the team will listen based on credentials.

I've said it once, I'll say it again...MANGINA HAS NO BALLS.

This guy has no clue on how to coach on gameday. Too bad Woody loves him too much to fire him. He's a pathetic coach who has lost touch on how to win in this league.

I find it so ironic that the people quickest to call Mangini a pussy, Mangina, or ball less are the same ones who've already conceded this season as over.

I really hope I never become that kind of fan.

Something is wrong with this team. Favre clearly didn't help but the coaching staff pretty much made it clear they had no confidence in either Chad or Clemens and that's why the move was made. I always thought the QB competiton was a bad move from the get go. You had to make a choice before TC and stick with it or move on. They couldn't even get that right.

I look at a guy like Kerry Rhodes who I know is a good football player, a good guy, a dedicated guy. This guy looked lost on the football field for weeks now against very mediocre NFL competition. He looks indecisive, hesitant everything you don't want in a highly talented free safety. Why?

We have a big talented OL a great lead blocker and a decent running back and we can't play power football against mediocre defensive fronts. We have a huge front 7 and we get run on by a second string OL. We can't get our FG team on the field with a sense of urgency in a must win game in a critical situation and we can't get a time out on top of it. Something is fundementally wrong here. This team is tight, undesciplined and outright quit down the stretch.

I think Jay Feeley on the sidelines yesterday was an outright indictment on the lack of faith this coaching staff has in the players and the players rewarded their lack of faith by quiting on them down the stretch.

I'm not a SOJ guy I honestly believe each team, each year creates it's own destiny and is what it is. This team has good NFL talent on both sides of the ball, this team lacks, heart, leadership and any kind of signature personality on O and D. This team needs a young promising QB, a smart diciplined Head Coach and staff who the players believe in, listen to and run through a wall for every week. We simply don't have it with Mangini. There's no way to sugar coat it.

    Agreed

I also think the shift to a veteran team has emasculated Mangini. Eric is a very young coach and he never played in the NFL. And now he's supposed to start telling guys like Favre & Faneca how to do their jobs ? I think he's intimidated.

This is exactly how I feel. I was sick yesterday, just watching. I knew we were going to lose by the end of the first half.

There is something horribly wrong when we can't get a pass rush on a Practice Squad Offensive line and Wallace could have eaten a sandwich back there before figuring out who to throw to.

I definitely think we will mail it in next week.

Slow down there. We only have 7 Pro Bowlers on this team.
The fault lies with Tannenbaum. Clearly, he didnt supply Mangini with enough quality players.

See, I can agree with this. Especially since I noticed the Feely thing too...he looked PISSED.

This is sensible. This is what I expect of the fans who've REALLY watched football for 40 years, and picked up a few things from it.

I think we have the disciplined HC, but I agree we need those other things. A young QB is now on the tops of my wish list after watching Favre completely melt down with this offense since the Titans game. I have no idea what the hell happened there, but it's thrown everything off. And to make it worse, the D has fallen right behind them and fallen apart...which is why a big ass, talented DE prospect would be great...along with one of the sick pass rushers in this years draft.

That said, I'm not tapping out yet. Still have Week 17 to play.

Mangini blows! What a disaster this team has become in the final half of the season no aggression, no desire, no enthusiasm, no sense of urgency. Say what you want but thats the signature of the head coach. I dont think he's back next year. At least I hope not ,let the rebuilding begin we look old and pathetic once again. We paid too much for Farve all the talk about how defense's wil have to respect Farve was BS he was a great player for greenbay but you have to admit he looks no better than any of the QB's we've had the past few years.

Even if this team magically gets into the playoffs how can anyone be confident that they will be able to do anything.

If we play the colts, I would not even waste my time watching that game..

If we play the ravens, I will be playing madden...

Whoever we play we will lose... I dont feel confident about this team like I did when we played the chargers a few years back, I told all my friends we would beat them and felt damn good making that prediction..

I would feel like a total liar and fool predicting anything for this team other then a loss
