His contract is guaranteed. We'd have to get rid of Favre in order to absorb the hit for whatever money is left on his deal. He'll be here one more year and then he'll more than likely retire or go on to be a #2 somewhere.

That was a pretty dumb contract for the Jets to offer. The guy is one concussion from retirement. He must have a great agent to have got that deal. edit: I'm a Coles fan too. He is getting to the end of his career though.

its obvious that the coaches those players play for now understand how to utilize them better than the Jets coaches did. Pennington was a shitty Jet because the Jets coaches suck, not the other way around. I have just realized this due to what has unfolded this year.
Exactly. Hindsight is 20/20, and hindsight is showing that Pennington got the shaft from the Jets... the royal shaft. Everyone was allowed to become convinced, including myself, that it was Chad's arm that was holding us back, not the coaches ability to put the players in a position to succeed. Chad should still be our franchise QB, but we fucked up. Herm started it, and Mangini is finishing turning this team into a gutless group of wimps with lots of talent and no fire. If we let Mangini continue to run this ship then we'll be colliding head on with the Detroit Lions pretty soon.

They just try and force players into something they are not. How many times this year have we seen Pace and Thomas dropping into Flat Coverages while we rush 3? Simply amazing.
Chad johnson wants out tj houshman (fuck it I can't spell his last name and don't wanna look it up) is a free agent after this year I believe either one of those player would be and improvement over coles but I don't think coles is a bad reciever just not a legitiment #1 anymore, but our coaching is the biggest issue and favre will probably not return so we will have cap space
