It all ends with the HC. How hard is it to tell your OC to RUN THE BALL?!? TJ should have won the rushing title this year, and this team would be looking at a first round bye instead of planning golfing trips.
Haha no, I mean they say Favre ruined the season or its all Mangini's fault. When in reality, there is plenty of blame to go around.
I blame Eric Smith. Our record when he plays: 4-5 (projects to 7-9) Our record when he sits: 5-2 (projects to 11-5) My logic is unassailable.
I can't tell (I was using game log stats) since Gholston having no stats for a game doesn't necessarily mean he didn't play in it.
This is the best thread I've seen all year. Finally somebody gets it that it wasn't just one thing. And when it's a combination of so many things, the HEAD COACH must be held responsible. The captain goes down with the ship.
Right the OC threw 22 picks!!! Yet he gets no credit for the 22 TD's!!! Thanks for the line of JOKES!!!
The blame game is what this franchise does best. Where would the Jets be today if they hadn't spent the past 20 or so years just passing the blame around?
So what is your opinion? I already know that you hate it when blame is placed upon someone or a group of individuals. I already know that you hate hindsight/the Monday Morning QB syndrome, etc. I already know that you hate hearsay, unsubstantiated rumors, etc. I just dont know what it is that DOESNT bother you. I really dont know where you stand. I have no idea what your perspective is. What's your opinion on the inability of this team to reach the playoffs after having an 8-3 record with no significant injuries to speak of & a remaining schedule that was very friendly to the goal of making the playoffs. Just sayin..............
You constantly equate the fans with the 'team'. There's an enormous difference. If the team acted on fan outcry, then Herm would have been fired after '03, Clemens would have been the starter all of 2007, Bob Sutton would have been fired after '07, Wayne Chrebet's number would be retired, and we would have a stadium, with an enormous tailgating lot and no PSLs being built in Manhattan. Just because the fans, or the media says something, and ONCE IN A WHILE the team's actions reflect that, doesn't mean that's always the case. The team made the move in this instance that they believed was right.
Has that guy ever NOT been step late on a pass play since he entered the NFL? He was awful in pass protection.
Take away the anomaly game against Arizona where Favre had 6TDs and 1 Int, and his stats really really suck. You are looking more like 16TD and 23INT
Once again, someone trying to blame one guy for a teams failure. And to make you feel better, yes he was part of the team, but god-jigglin-dang-it FAVRE IS NOT THE TEAM, HE IS NOT THE SOLE DECIDER OF WHO WINS.
