How many Super Bowl winning coaches have gone onto to win another Super Bowl with another team?

This is still a lame ass argument. How many teams went undefeated or winless before last year? How many rookie qb's led there team to a 15-1 record before big ben? How many years featured two rookie qb's and three rookie head coaches making the playoffs? Holmgren came close, Parcells if not for a second half collapse wouldve gotten it done

So you're willing to give Shanahan full autonomy with the Jets?
He traded for DRob, and has made horrible draft choices minus Cutler.
What has he done without Elway? Can he build a franchise? Because that's what I want from a GM/coach.

I'm not willing to give Shanahan full autonomy and in his press conference he said he wasn't looking for it. In fact everytime I've brought up Shanahan the parameters have stayed the same. He doesn't get full autonomy and I think alot rests with who he would chose as a d-coordinater considering thats not his forte. He's worked with Nolan in the past and Nolan has also coached here in the past, and if not Nolan, Gregg Williams is another possible guy that can come in here that knows the 3-4...

...hey I did just realize if Shanahan really is brought in here we could see the return of THE DINGER!!!

I truly believe we should go with Spags...hear me out, need someone in place for at least 5 to 7 years that can set up their system and let it ride, if we go with Marty or Shan...they may not be here that long, and we will be starting all over again in a couple of years, the Ravens, Falcons and Miami have proven that we can win with a first time coach ala Mangini, but they have to have the players in place as we do now, we won with the 4-3 in place the first year mangerine was our coach, and if I'm not mistaken Donnie Henderson did a nice job with it, so he was replaced with...aaaggghhh I'm sorry I can't mention his name (DC) and now we find ourselves with good players but no guidance, let spags come in establish the 4-3 which will help Jenkins because he can handle anyone 1-1, Make David Harris Weak side line backer, Barton MLB, and Pace strong side LB.......Gholsten LE, Jenkins DT, ?DT Ellis RE,.....Blitz Pace let Rhodes cover the TE and wala THE SACK EXCHANGE IS BACK BABY

Gibberish all of it. First of all Sutton has been the d-coordinater and we've been running a 3-4 ever since Mangini got here. Second of all your suggestion of Barton as a middle linebacker was quite humerous. And everyone that wants Spags immediately assumes that Gholdston can play the 4-3 defensive end with no problem. AFTER SEEING HIM THIS YEAR (OR NOT) WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT PEICE OF SHIT CAN DO ANYTHING?!

It's just as lame ass an argument as "first time head coaches never work out".

you are right about Sutton however it's not all gibberish, since our defense was a lot better when Donnie ran it, you really don't belive that Jenkins, Ellis and Gholsten and another DT will not be better on 1-1 situations? go ask the Steelers and the Chin about our defense under Mr. Henderson, if we had played to really win the game we might have our super bowl by now......and yes eric barton was part of that defense as weak side LB not MLB

Probably because it seems like every Giants DL can rush the passer in Spags' scheme.

Whoever they bring in, I hope they keep the 3-4. This constant switching back and forth from a 3-4 under Groh, to a 4-3 under Herm, to a 3-4 again under Mangini is one of the reasons why our defense has been so inconsistent over the years.

Pick an identity and stick with it.

If Spags can keep the 3-4 then fine, but I don't think he would keep it. I just want some continuity.

Shanahan running the offense and bringing in a 3-4 DC who doesn't suck balls like Sutton is just fine by me.

The defense as presently constituted can be very successful. Until the balls dropped off and for some inexplicable reason the blitz's stopped coming this team led the league in sacks and had a very stout run defense. Bringing in Shanahan along with a top flight defensive coordinater in Gregg Williams or someone like Mike Nolan that Shanahan has worked with before to me just makes the most sense. This is still a win now team.

I say lets go for Marty now that Shanny is possibly out of the picture. If we can't get Marty. Then we should look at Spags. I just don't like how we converted this defense the 3-4 and will possibly have to go back the 4-3. Then now it looks bad getting rid of vilma. Does anybody now if we went the the 4-3 what kind of effect that would have on Gholston?

Whatever coach we get, I just hope they tell the defense something like "if you're blitzing, I don't care if there's a blocker in front of you, you go right the hell through him or around him, but don't just run into him and stop".

So many times that's what our blitzes looked like. Our guys would run into the blocker and then just stop their pass rush. Feed these guys red meat, I don't care, but I want aggressiveness on defense. I'm so sick of this passive shit we've had with Herm and Mangini.

Couldn't agree more. Especially with Parcells recently endorsing Tice as a HC candidate

I will seriously give up on watching them next year if we end up with Tice....I can see it now..locker room with players waiting for the coaches pep talk and he is out in front of the stadium yelling "2 tickets for face value right here come and get em"

I demand to know from Tannenbaum WHY they didn't feel the need to at least reach out and interview Shanny.
