i dont understand why if they dont want him back do they give him 2 months to figure it out? they can cut him with no cap penalty if they dont want him back. (correct me if they cannot cut him at this point in the year) i do think its good for favre not to come back though so this would be the most positive thing on the board right now, although i am sure it will get spun negatively in a matter of moments
Don't cut him. He'll want to retire a Packer. Make them give us a 5th or 6th rounder for his contract. : )
Cut him and bring Mangini back with the one year left on his contract. Should of kept him until they had a good guy lined up.
he can just retire and then when the contract is void sign a one day tender with the Packers and retire with them.
Without Farvre we aren't as good a football team as we were this season. Who would play QB? Ratliffe? Ainge? Puhleaze.
Favre's contract with the Packers was 10 years, expiring in 2011. I believe he's still in the same contract.
Almost anything a majority of people on this message board agrees with is going to look stupid a little while later. So now you want to cut Favre? Remember when we cut Penny and then he goes to the playoffs with a florida team? Expect the same if we cut Favre. Favre staying is whats best for the Jets. Don't believe the stupid rumors about losing Cowher because of Favre, Cowher's wife has said she hates living in the North. Guess where NYC is.
Two of Cowher's daughters are here. One works in NY and the other goes to Princeton. The third, which graduates in June, may go to Princeton too. Do you think for even a fraction of a second that his wife wouldn't want to be closer to her daughters? Think again. Why do you think he was even interested in it to begin with?
This sounds like complete bullshit. If it were true wouldn't that have been conveyed to Cowher? Or did Cowher not really turn down an interview because of Favre? Something is wrong.
This is all just corporate management bullshit that we all have to deal with every day. They don't want to admit publicly that they feel it was a mistake bringing him here. It seemed like a phenomenal idea, just from a business POV. By missing the playoffs, in part because of Favre's shitty performance down the stretch, that idea blew up in their faces. So they say "yeah we want Favre back" and meanwhile they're shitting their pants hoping he doesn't because they have no clue how to navigate the media in the NY metro area, when in fact they shouldn't give 2 shits about the media and just build a fucking football team that can sell tickets on it's own. Sweet job guys. Good thing J&J is a publicly held company with a BOD and other coporate governance, otherwise Woody might have ran it into the ground long ago. I'm really starting to hate this team.
Actually YOU are adding to the Bullshit. The team can't write him off for contract reasons - If they threw him under the bus on day 1 they would owe him more money - If he says he needs surgery and is done, they save money.... If players pme out with the truth, maybe he retires and the Jets save money... I'm really starting to LOVE this team and wish som efans would stay away, STOP CRYING and not come back.
Wow thanks for that remarkable insight, coach. Glad we have you around for comic relief. You have to be right, what was I thinking. And if you want to sit and watch this shitty product and buy all of their merchandise, be my guest. There's no shortage of retards out there, so get on the long line.
