I don't mean to stick up for the ownership but we were 4-12 last season, we were 9-7 this season, and sure that includes a late season collapse but we are going in the right direction. I really don't understand the negativity, i was as disappointed as anyone after our late season collapse but now we need to look forward. Posts i am reading on here regarding the HC going to a rookie HC are the same things that were being said on Atlanta Falcons forums regarding Mike Smith or on Ravens forums before the hiring of John Harbaugh and both teams seem to be doing alright about now. Sure we have had bad experiences with first time HC before but just because it happened in the past, doesn't mean it will happen again. People talk about the dark cloud hanging over our organization, maybe its because we as a fan base always look for the negatives. People can sit and say look whats happened in the past, it doesn't fill us with much hope etc etc etc, but come on, please can we have some positivity, we won 9 games on the back of a 4 win season.

If you want to be negative and bitter about everything then thats up to you. Football is big business. Selling PSLs is part of that. Nobody is forcing you to buy a PSL. I see the FO committed to improving this team and working torwards winning a SB. I am optimisitic that we will get a great new HC and that the FO will make some more good personnel moves and that the Jets will be in the playoffs in 2009.

Okay, time to explain again. Yes, a lot of these are rumors, but they are rumors potential coaches are hearing as well as the fans. And with Woody admitting he's a liar, how the hell does anyone know what's true, including prospective coaches? That's just part of the mess.

Forget Favre. Vinny could still step in and fix all of this.

And yet, the Jets STILL improve, can we all stop crying about it now?

We gave away the MVP runner up to our own division for absolutely nothing.

He led a team who was the worst in the league last season to the division title.

We traded away a 3rd round pick for a QB who led our revamped with huge free agent signings and 7 pro-bowlers team to 9-7 and no playoffs.

We also got nothing for a guy who runs back kicks for TD's every other week.

We fired our coach, which was a good thing, but how the GM and QB are wanted back is beyond me.

I could see giving Tanny another chance, because I think he still brings something to the table, I can't say the same for the QB.

That's not the point. If you have two great QBs are you going to give away one for nothing? Oh wait.

"The Jets trade for my least favorite football player." LOL. The thing with you LTJF, is that you are so full of hyperbole and exaggerate things that it's hard to take you seriously. #1 on your list is that Favre is you least favorite player? Are you kidding me, you like TO, Moss, Pacman Jones, Chad Johnson, hell even Tom Brady more than you like Favre?

I think things look like an absolute mess to you only because you are bending over backwards to get your head into your @$$ convince yourself that things are so bad, by exaggerating. I swear to god, Jets fans are unique in how masochistic they are iin this league (only comparable fans I can think of is CUbs, and at leat they have 100 years of falling short, not 40). If someone from Mars read this they'd think you were talking about the Detroit Lions instead of a 9-7 team that had one of the top offenses in the league statistically 2/3 through the season ...

The other thing that makes it hard for me to take you seriously is that you list TWENTY things and NOT ONE OF THEM is about THE DEFENSE. You DO realize that overall the DEFENSE was worse than the offense this year ... right?

I was not campaigning to keep him, but they should be getting something back for commodities, live MVP runner ups.

Not giving them away for nothing!!!

Pennington was not an FA. I doubt they let Cassell go for nothing, but even so it wouldn't be the same thing.

It doesn't bother me that you don't take me seriously because you simply don't get it. This was not an evaluation of the team. That would take another depressing 20 things to talk about. This is just my take on recent events, the things that triggered them, and how they reflect on the organization and coaching search. I don't really care if you take me seriously. I've avoided saying I told you so for years here, but virtually everything I've said has proven to be true. You want a few examples? I said the Jets should not trade for Favre, I said they should draft Cutler, I said they shoud not draft Gholston, I said they should draft Ryan if he were available, I said they should not trade Abraham because the pass rush would go with him, I said Ellis was nothing without Abraham to take the pressure off him, I said getting Revis was a great move. You want me to go on and on and on? So frankly, I don't give a damn if you take me seriously, but you just might learn something if you did. If this is a little testy it's because I'm of people attacking me when I've be right about everything, and they've mostly been wrong.

I got that, it will take even more effort from them to get something back, then it would have for us.

Abdul, you said it does not get worse than 1995-96.

Looks to me that they are headed for a repeat of the Kotite years. This team is an all out disaster right now. Favre, who is horrible, done, and so many other things, or the career backups. Oh yea, and no one wants to coach this team. You see ten wins in the near future? hahahahahaha

I know it's not fashionable, but ... someone needs to remind folks here that the 2008 Jets had a winning record overall, as well as a winning record in the division -- a division which was no cakewalk, it was one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, it went 27-15 against opponents other than the Jets.

I know it conflicts with some people's world view tht this is the absolute worst disaster in the history of professional sports, but ... someone had to interject some facts at some point, might as well be me. I'm not saying that I'm happy with things or anything ... I'm just saying calm the F down!.
