I agree with that and wouldnt mind it. Or at least get his old staff back from he Chargers days. With Marty as head coach, Cam as OC, Wade as DC, BS as the QB coach, Callahan as the OL coach, Westoff as the special teams coach and we would be set. Hahaha Like that will ever happen.

If we bring in a new head coach, there's a good chance Schotty Jr will remain offensive coordinator. If Schotty's promoted to head coach, we get a new OC. The way I see it, that might not be such a bad turn of events.

This all depends on Favre's status. If Favre comes back, Schotty will remain our OC, but if Favre decides to hang it up, the next coach will likely want to change things.

So much negativity in this thread. Rex and Spagnuolo being good DCs doesn't guarantee they'll make good head coaches. As long as Schotty has the respect of his team and has a good OC and DC, there's no reason to think he can't be a good HC. It's all in the braintrust. I'd be much more concerned about Sutton staying DC and the FO making boneheaded moves than I would be about Schotty getting promoted.

Being the HC he would have to appoint a new OC. I would hope he would pick someone wit better playcalling a bility than he had. A veteran coach that he would respect, and trust the playcalls. It has to be someone that Schotty wouldn't override when it comes to playcalling.

Theres no way anyone with half a fucking brain would root for a bshcotty coached team. Seriously.

Although it would be fun to sing "Schotty doesnt know" each week.

Woody wants to sell PSL's.....Brian Schottenheimer is NOT a coach that will entice people to purchase these PSL's...neither is Callahan. These guys were interviewed as a courtesy, IMO.

But to think that the Jets would fulfill, in my opinion, is the worst case scenario is sickening enough...

No, actually it's his players that lost the games, not Marty. And anyway, you have to be in the playoffs first of all in order to win or lose playoff games.

There should be a thread on why we shouldn't hire every coaching candidate out there.

    Marty - "Sucks in playoffs."

Cowher - Everyone wants him, but probably cause deep down we all know we can't have him.

Parcells - Would be welcomed back, but we all know he'd just want to hit it and quit it.

Schotty - Stupidest stupid thing since stupid sliced bread. Maybe even dumber than Mangini. Idiot.

Ryan and Spags - First time HC's. Same storyline as Mangini, but they're older. We'd be super duper excited until they lost a game.

Mike Nolan - Also not a "proven winner."

Marvin Lewis - Would bring too many gangsters in here.

Jim Schwartz - See Nolan, Spagz, and Ryan.

Anyone with a resume short of impeccable need not even apply if Jets fans were doing the hiring. Of course...it's fine by me to get a big name but seriously the way people eliminate options on this site due to low info perceptions is unbelievable.

The Jets should just hand the team over to us.

i love how people bring it up, but hes one of the most successful coaches in the regular season i believe.

and id rather have a coach that gets us to the playoffs then one who doesnt. his last game as the chargers HC was a disgrace the players literally lost his job that game.

not saying im all for him but with the way people are telling woody and tanny to get their shinebox, and considering the chargers havent looked better since Marty was there. its starting to look like a good option.

schotty jr on the other hand, no way.

im really hoping for ryan cuz he does a good job of a hybrid 3-4 and moving people in all sorts of positions. plus coming from a team laden with def talent, i think hed look at our weakspots and address them and our def depth quickly.

spags would be good too, he loses his best players and still generates a great rush.

but yeah being that both of those coaches will be wrapped up for the next few weeks if any good news is coming its not coming till then.

If we hire Schotty as HC I don't understand why we fired Mangini. I would rather have the penguin back with new coordinators than have that dumb ass Schotty in charge.
