Most years I could care less about the Pro Bowl, but this year I am excited to watch it. See six of my players playing in the Pro Bowl. (Favre won't show.) I believe Nick Mangold and Alan Faneca will be starting next to each other. That is cool. See if Leon can bring one back on these pro special teamers. I bet he can. Watch Thomas Jones get some good runs. Should be a fun time. Revis and Jenkins won't do much I bet, as its the Pro Bowl. Maybe Revis can get a pick. Anyone else excited due to being able to see some of their Jets one more time this season?
I never watch it but I might this year. I wouldn't say I'm excited, maybe more interested than usual.
I think it is cool to see Mangold and Faneca start next to each other at the Pro Bowl. The top 5 O-lineman in the conference and 2 are Jets.
Isn't the pro bowl just a glorified holiday for the 'stars' of the NFL ? Its totally lost its way and credibility. It will never be the same again. With the amount of money being invested in players , Owners/Coaches/Players are never going to give some meaningless game 100%.
I get to watch my favorite Jets players in hideous Red and Green Christmas-colored outfits. I might tune it in just to see what Leon does.
I remember Tuesday during Scott Pioli's press conference in KC he said something like "Players go to Pro Bowls, teams win Championships." So true. Jets have 7 Pro Bowlers and didn't even make the playoffs.
Is it next year they're moving the Pro Bowl to the week before the Super Bowl, to be held in the same stadium? It might work a little better as the Super Bowl curtain-raiser and will at least fill that awful off-week. All I care about the Pro Bowl is that none of our players get freak injuries.
Actually, the worst thing about that awful offweek before the SB is the knowledge of who's doing the halftime show..
See I hate that, because any player in the superbowl, will not be participating. Fuck I know if the Jets were going to the big dance and had all 11 starters (ala this years redskins) on one side of the ball, and a few defensive guys as well, I would be fucking pissed they would play on the off chance of injury. And they should be resting up! not practicing with guys they dont play with, for a meaningless game. Keep the pro-bowl where it is that way any one who wants, can go. And Why switch from Hawaii to Miami? thats stupid Who doesnt want to win a free vacation to Hawaii at the end of a year for all their hard work? even if it is a popularity contest? You can go to miami almost whenever you want, but Hawaii is just a touch more expensive...
The only way I would ever be interested in the Pro bowl is if the Jets won the super bowl. It would be worth listening to some praise for the Jets, during the pro bowl.
Could care less about the Pro Bowl, ever. Never watched one for more than a few minutes in over 40 years.
I always look for Jet players, so this year will be easy. My biggest hope is nobody gets hurt. At leat they cancelled that crazy beach game they used to have, ended the career of Robert Edwards, the Patriots' RB.
I never watch the Pro Bowl. The game is meaningless, and I don't want to see stories about millionaire players enjoying a Hawaiian vacation
I agree. What's the point? I'm sure if you took a poll of all the NFL fans out there you would probably get a concensus similar to this thread - there is little to zero interest in this game every year. Why not just make being named to the Pro Bowl as an award on paper rather than playing an actual game, sort of like being named an All-American in college. Players being named to the Pro Bowl is something people actually pay attention to - the game itself is not.
If it's snowing and there are no Maude reruns on, I might watch. After I get finished doing something else.
Even with all the Jets playing in the pro bowl this year I still will not watch it. When they start going by pure stats alone and ditch the voting I think I could watch that game.
