I would do the trade in a minute.

Deal would be:
Trade would cost a 2nd Rd pickl
If Viking make the playoffs we get a 1st instead
If they make the SB we get both a 1st and 2nd
If they win the SB we get their 1st Rd this year and next

 

It shouldn't cost us anything to GB, the trade clause was only for the first year, or so I was told

I keep seeing this pop up in various posts on this site. Where is this info coming from? I have never heard of that kind of stipulation in any trade and find it highly unlikely it was in the Favre trade.

one of the trade stipulations the Jets made with GB was that if Favre was traded to one of the NFC north divisional rivals....the Jets would have to give up 2 or 3 first round draft choices......FUCK.....THAT!!!

 

I have always had the utmost respect for Favre, but if he drags us into some kinda cluster-f#*k this off season, all bets are off.

 

When Schefter was reporting on the trade last summer...he mentioned the stipulation....I'll try and look for a more concrete source.

Since Chris Mortenson reported it, the OP should really be, "Chris Mortenson says Favre may be trying to get the Jets to trade him to the Vikings, so I suppose there's no way in hell that ever happens.

 

Makes sense. Green Bay don't want to see him twice a season.

 

Interesting, thanks for the link, I haven't heard that before recently when I saw a bunch of posters make mention of it. I would think though as others have pointed out that was only the first year.

 

I've yet to see anything concrete that says it's only for year 1. I don't remember the media mentioning that stipulation last summer either. I have a feeling it's for the duration of Favre's contract...since it's still the original contract from Green Bay.

Now having said that.....if Tanny trades Favre to the Vikes for anything less than 3 first round picks...we should burn his house to the ground....just my opinion.

 

I don't know what the fuck to think anymore. If Favre takes off the OTAs and Preseason or gets traded to MIN its all going to hurt this team.... I need a new young QB to root for... No more Chad or Farvre, get me a young promising kid that people like. Sanchez, Stafford, someone. Someone the team can build around as their franchise guy.
