In these tough economic times businesses are always looking for ways to save $. If Ratliff gets the starting nod over Clemens, at least they could get another year out of all those J-E-T-S, Brett, Brett, Brett billboards.
"Ok Brett....we kept the same exact billboards from last season. Now we have high hopes for you and our organization..." "How come that's Favre's face on there?" "Son...we have a 30 year contract ready for you to sign!"
Did this guy actually think this was so hilarious as to merit its own thread? Nice work bro: maybe you can fill in for Carson Daly some time.
If that was the case there would be about three posters left on this baords and all of them would be assholes. :drunk:
Right now, there is virtually no reason to make Ratliff the starting QB. I do like the guy, and I beleive he definitely deserves a shot at it; but, come one, all we have seen thus far is him excelling against some 2nd and third stringers in pre-season. I would not want to bet my 2009 season on that. I am all for letting there be an open competition at QB and if Ratliff earns the right to be the starter than so be it.
These pro-Ratliff threads are too numerous. The reality is the best he is likely to get is a competition that he wins. I don't like the idea of a competition, for a number of reasons, but if one is going to be held, and Ratliff were to win it, so be it. I just think that is unlikely.
Yes, I understand the basics of internet message boards, and reading. It was just my way of making a sly comment on a topic that there is really nothing more to say than a sly, irrelevant comment.
I think so, too. He really has just amde some nice throws in a couple of preseason games. That's it. I would like to see him earn his spot, though. I wanna see if last year was a fluke or did he get even better this off-season.
