this is VERY curious timing... reports out of Baltimore have Scott ready to sign... and now he knows the Jets just found another 6 mil. coincidence?
I think this opens up the door to us definitely taking a WR in the first round of the draft. Ryan knows what he's doing, people. If we draft Harvin in 2 years we could have a 1-3 combo of Harvin, Cotchery, and Clowney. The skills they possess could be deadly. I'm hoping that we don't have a reunion with Coles. Let him go to Miami. With their schedule they aren't doing shit this year, anyway.
One interesting thing in the article is that Ryan told Coles he doesn't want to give out big extensions to veteran from the previous regimes... does anyone fall into that category apart from Coles?
...yeah, and Harvin isn't a #1 - he's a player that should be used like Reggie Bush - a receiver out of the backfield. Hakeem Nicks is a complete receiver. He should be the pick.
He seems to be more of a hybrid RB/WR than a true WR at this point. I think that is what the previous poster was trying to say. Didn't he start at RB last year?
Percy harvin was a product of the system, if he came to the jets he would suck dick. Please no Florida Gators, its to much of a college ran offense
Now the Jets have a trillion dollars in cap room!!!!! LETS GET LARRY FITZGERALD AND BOLDIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cotchery is entering his 7th year. if we draft a WR in 2years cotchery will be done and we will be back in the same boat. but if we get a Vet like ocho, housman or boldin now where talking.
I like Coles - he was a tough and productive receiver for the Jets for a long time. And I would be happy to see him reunited with his favorite QB in Miami. As long as they're not playing against us, I wish both of them the best. That being said, Coles is one ding to the noggin away from retirement. So it's a pretty serious medical risk signing that guy.
Id take Harvin over Reggie any day. I might be a little biased because I'm a Florida fan, but Im sure he wont be taken #2 overall and will be heck of a more productive than Reggie was his first year.
