I think he wants to get paid like a #1. Any team that trades for him will have to renegotiate his deal or deal with his constant bitching about his contract. So the big question to me is whether the Jets can pay him what he wants.
Not much chance the Jets will get him. They need to hold their 2nd until there is no chance to move up for Sanchez. The Giants and Eagles don't have that albatross.
Boy, everyone sure is on the Sanchez bandwagon. I don't know if we can outbid everyone else for Boldin, but I sure would be a happy camper with Boldin and Pettigrew regardless of whatever else we get in the draft. As to the people who say that Boldin wouldn't want to come here because we don't have a QB, that may be true, but I don't think having Sanchez would make that statement any different.
I'll state right now, I'll be absolutely furious if the Jets spend 1st round picks on tight ends in consecutive drafts. Tight end is a specialty/luxury position.
Id rather see one of our own QBs play now. We are not asking them to be like Drew Brees or anything. Sanchez could be great, IDK. But we can use the same pick for someone else who can contribute more to team right away. I want a DE to be precise. We need one that can actually reach the QB and not one that is a workout warrior. For second, i'll take Boldin.
Anyone see the chance for the Jets to get both Boldin & Sanchez? Trade 17 & 2010 picks(2nd round or 3rd) to get Sanchez and then trade 2nd round pick & other '09 picks(4th & 6th?) to get Boldin. Leaves us with a 3rd & a 7th but we get the #1 WR and the franchise QB that we need.
I'd be willing to do a 2nd and 3rd. We'd take a WR rd 1 or 2 either way, so in hindsight the 3rd is given up for a proven commodity. Take RB Moreno rd 1, trade for Boldin and we got some weapons.
Well, thinking back to Wisenhunt's days coaching Randle-el, Arizona may be one team for whom Brad Smith is actually an attractive player. Not that he'd be the make or break element in a big deal like this of course, just something that occurred to me while reading these posts
That is my ideal draft situation, however right now I think the front office has a man love for Sanchez. I really hope we don't give the farm to get this guy.
I'd def. give them a second and Jones for Boldin. Then try to swing a deal with the Giants so they can move into our spot so they can DHB and pick up a 2nd. Then we can pick up Donald Brown with that late 1st round pick and still have a pick in the 2nd
According to sportscenter the Titans made the right offer and are trying to make Boldin happy with a new deal
Titans have offered a 2nd and a player for Boldin. Receive permission to talk to Rosenhaus, his agent. May be a done deal there.
no worries....Boldin would've been a nice addition....but his medical history is a huge question mark, IMO. All the reports coming out about his recent problems with his hip had me concerned.
Cardinals GM denies that price has fallen for an Anquan Boldin trade Buzz up! Like this story? Share it with Yahoo! Buzz NEW YORK -- Cardinals GM Rod Graves said late Friday the team has received just one "low-ball" offer for three-time wideout Anquan Boldin. He added that an ESPN report saying the Cardinals have lowered their asking price for the rugged receiver to a second-round pick is pre-draft misinformation. "We've only had one offer and that didn't come close to anything we'd consider,'' Graves said by phone from his Tempe, Ariz., office. "We thought it was a low-ball offer. We haven't received an offer we'd consider. And we're not disappointed because it's been our interest all along to keep Anquan. He's the type of player who continues to create excitement and sell tickets. "There's a report floating out there that we dropped our demand for Anquan to a second-rounder. That's all pre-draft, erroneous misinformation." Graves said the Cardinals' intention was to allow Boldin, a highly-respected team player unhappy with two years remaining on his contract, the chance to find a willing team, but the return would have to be right. Boldin gives coach Ken Whisenhunt's team a chance to return to the Super Bowl when paired with Pro Bowlers Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald. He mentioned during last year's training camp that he wanted to be traded if his contract wasn't re-addressed and reiterated that unhappiness at the Pro Bowl, saying it was nothing against his teammates, with whom he loves playing. "All along we're trying to address an extension for him,'' Graves said. "We felt it would be prudent to hear what other teams are willing to give up, if anything, and weigh that against extending him. And obviously that compensation would have to be something considerable. "He's an outstanding player. He certainly enhances our chances to be a playoff contender and any offer we consider for a trade would have to be weighed against all of that.'' Asked of the possibility a team on the clock could make a compelling offer that would cause the Cardinals to reconsider, Graves said, "It is possible that someone will say 'I'd rather give the money to a three-time Pro Bowler rather than somebody we're taking that we don't know about.' '' The Cardinals will listen. -- Jim Corbett I don't think hes going anywhere
