We gave up Ratliff, Elam, Coleman our 1st & 2nd For Sanchez going into a new stadium. This is screaming Woody giving it all up to get a face for the Stadium.
Nah, not nearly as bad as the Favre fiasco last year. I'm on board with this move, I loathed the Favre move because that was clearly all about PSLs.
Exactly, so that plan blew up on their face. They have to sell the seats especially with the Yankees Mets Fiasco currently going on. Reallistically, I really like this guy and as a JETS fan am hoping it all pans out but I'm not going to be naive about it. also, The Players we gave up were ok. But the additional #2 pick? ugh
Sanchez had 16 starts in college. We bought into crazy draft day hype. He could easily be one the biggest busts we have ever had. Not to mention what if Ratliff turns out to be a good NFL QB.
That's your Opinion. We don't know that we did. I don't mind the trade but Woody was hell bent to get a face for the Stadium. That's all I'm saying
Matt Cassel does not agree that starts have anything to do with it. There's no real evidence that Ratliff will be a good QB.
Absolutely just like there's no evidence on Sanchez. I'm just in the belief that this was a Woody move as much as a Tanny move. Woody says: "Get em Sanchez at any Cost!" Tanny: Worked some Magic.
A first and second wouldn't even be good enough to move up even to the 8 spot. We add a group of players that really isn't worth much and none that any teams will give a draft pick up for, maybe a late late rounder for Coleman. This is something that is long over due for the Jets franchise. They eventually had to take a chance like this to get our franchise QB. We got Favre last year and now we got Sanchez. What does that say about what they think of Clemens and Ratliff. They see them in practice all the time and watch them 24/7, we see them for a few games or a few 3rd quarters in the preseason. I'm happy they got Sanchez. If you guys arent, you can always go to... the browns where you can hook up with Mangini and Ratliff... and Coleman and Elams and etc.
What are you kidding me? They gave up absolutely nothing considering what you normally would have to give up to go from 17 to 5... The fact that Mangini liked Elam, Coleman and Ratliff,... average players got the Jets the best player in the whole draft for a unbelievableeee reasonable price..... It's not about new Stadium, it's about QB being the most important position in the NFL by far and the Jets getting a franchise wise that everyone loved for almost nothing. Phil Simms, saw this guy work out in person and couldn't believe how awesome he was.. He left saying wow. That's all you need to know.
I guess you didn't read my other posts. I didn't say it was bad, I didn't say we gave up too much actually I said it was Tanny "Magic". I'm just saying Woody had his hands in this. That's all I'm saying.
Ignorant is a guy with a Nugent avatar telling a guy speaking the unadulterated truth that he is ignorant.
he did... and yes, from a business (the NFL is a business 1st folks) perspective, this is a marketing move... he'll be in commercials before his 1st NFL snap - quote me on it. from a football move - he's here for 5 years regardless of his talent in the NFL... or he's here for 12 years.
Worst thread ever -- We gave up three fringe players and a second rounder for a top five pick. Great move... IMO we didn't give up shit -- Coleman was the only player that was going to be a factor and with Marques Douglas on board, his playing time would probably be cut in half.
Come on, though. We got incredible value for the 5 pick. It's like no matter what the Jets do in the draft or free agency the last couple years, someone throws the "this is to sell PSLs" into it if they don;t agree with it. Can we just be happy that we probably got a pretty darn good QB for a reasonable price? The only thing that does worry me a little is he doesn;t have much to throw to yet.
