I disagree with you disagreeing with me agreeing that they always agree. :shit: I haven't seen it much lately so maybe I'm wrong, but when I used to watch it all the time it seemed like they were all just a bunch of homers.
That season where he almost got us to the playoffs was pretty exciting. We had the Colts in the division, and I think at one point tuna was starting a punter as QB. I disagree with his thoughts on the draft, but I still have respect for Mr. Lucas.
The Guy on the left looks liked he is pissed over running out of Hairspray. Two Damn homers that probabaly bought their first Jerseys last week. Had I been there, I'd probabaly smack them with my Vinny Bobble-Head! hmy:
I,ve always liked Ray Lucas's take on the Jets.He gives you his true opinion and deoesn't pull too many punchses. After Saturday's draft wrap up on SNY I felt he was going overboard on knocking the pick.Buttle sits there and he's like a clone of Joe Willie saying everything the Jets do is great.I don't know if many remember but Buttle wasn't crazy about Sanchez either when it was brought up on the Pre draft show.He changed his tune after the pick waving those Jet green Pom-Poms in the air.
I don't like either of them. Buttle is ridiculous. SNY should be ashamed of themselves if this is all they could come up with. And Brian Custer is a super tool.
I like Ray Lucas. He's informed and usually can explain his opinions. He relates to Clemens's situation, and I for one don't understand, even if you thought the Sanchez move was a great one, why people can't also relate to Clemens's situation. It's also incorrect to say the Jets only gave up a backup and a #3 to get him. It took a first round pick, a starter at DE whose backup (Mosely) also left, a safety who played plenty last year and formerly the backup Qb to Clemens, about whom many here were frothing at the mouth only a few days ago.
That was Tom Tupa and he never started. When Vinny got hurt in the opener it was the first half and for some reason Rick Mirer couldn't come in until the 4th quarter, he was dressed as the #3 QB. Tupa filled in and actually hit Keyshawn with a TD on his first play. We were winning the game until the end, but Tupa never started. Mirer and Lucas started the rest of the games.
If you think about it, the first rounder we gave up was replaced by a higher first rounder, the QB we gave up was replaced by another QB. So in essence we gave up the second rounder, Colman and Elam--Elam being the only real loss, but you have to give up something to get something. Safeties are easier to find than franchise QBs, so it's worth the gamble. Also, it's inaccurate to say people were "frothing at the mouth" over Ratliff. I liked what I saw of him but mostly in the hope that he could be the goods because I'm very unimpressed with Clemens to date and apparently so are the Jets and Mangini.
Exactly. If they were all homers all the time there's no reason to have the show, you can find all the fluff you want on the team's website.
Whatever he said about the Sanchez pick, I agree, he should absolutely not be fired. He's the only guy with any balls on the entire station. He doesn't just spew whatever is the "right" thing to say. Actually, I'll give credit to Adam Schein too, but Schein gets a lot of egg on his face. His post-game talks are exactly why I wouldn't fire him. Exactly. How often does Lucas go into deep detail about something he says that makes people like Custer and Schein go "Say WHAT?!" and the next week they're saying, "Yeah, Ray, you did say that last week." The Jets gave up quite a bit for this guy. I was definitely pissed off on Saturday, and I'm not a "Ratliff Will Save The World" guy. I just felt it was pretty lopsided for a guy who I view as another Leinart. Since then, I've changed my opinion, thanks in large part to reading more. I don't follow college football really well, so I didn't see the things people say they see in Sanchez. Either way, I'm being cautious going into next year. I wanted a WR this year, not a QB. We'll see what happens though.
