Not sure who's out there, but we can not afford to have a rookie QB or that piece of crap Ainge backup Clemens so I was wondering what veterans are available besides ReX Grossman? Any ideas

Sanchez will be fine as a backup while he learns the system, IMO.

I do agree with you in regards to Ainge.....

No, we don't. If things go the way Ryan wants them too, Clemens will be backing up Mark Sanchez.

I don't think we need another backup QB at this point....but for the sake of the thread....the only 2 FA quarterbacks available that are worth taking a look at are JP Losman and Rex Grossman.

I'm not enamored with either of them....but the QB free agent market is slim pickens right now.

If the Jets were serious about signing another QB....their best bet would be to wait for Training Camp cuts....and see who's available on the scrap heap.

Kellen Clemens will be fine in that role.

YAWN! Lets hope that all Jets QBs do well rather then openly pull for one against another.

Ryan wants Clemens to win the job and Sanchez to sit for at least one year. The Ravens had no other choice, all their other QB's got hurt or sucked. No one wants to start a rookie QB unless they have to. If you don't like Clemens fine, but don't say he sucks because no one knows if he's good but he better be for the sake of the 2009 season

You're always, ALWAYS pessimistic. QB should be the least of our worries.

with this franchise and its history and fanbase, QB is a concern until proven otherwise.

We are in a sense "set" at the position because we know who the starter is going to be in the future.

Sign Vinny T as the 3rd QB!!

I don't think sec314's OP was pessimistic......he obviously doesn't believe in Ainge's ability and his opinion of Sanchez is that he's not ready for the show yet. I'm not saying I agree with him....but it's certainly a valid topic to discuss.

If one of our QB's has an unfortunate injury....I'd be curious to see "who" the Jets would bring in as their contingency plan.

that was my first thought, too.

if clemens and sanchez don't work out in a smash mouth offense, we're screwed anyway.

Actually hes said in interviews that he wanted flacco to start before the preseason even started lol Of course he didnt make the final decisions, but flacco ended up starting anyway because injuries and sicknesses. So my prediction is that he wants Sanchez to step up and take that starting role.

Not arguing, but why has Ainge hit "the piece of crap" level? Not saying he is any good, but I think it was Rod Boone said, Last Thursday in the few chanches he had Ainge was the best QB.

Has somthing happened I missed? Just wondering.

People need to hate a Jets QB. Some have chosen Ainge.

I'm not an Ainge hater but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets beaten out by the Harvard kid.
