That kinda got old the fifth or sixth time you posted that jetophile. Time to retire that "comeback." Do you post it when you can't think of anything useful to say? p.s. ditto to you BrotherMoose -- except "Burt" didn't even seem amusing the first time. I'll give jetophile the beneifit of the doubt that it was at least a decent retort, as long as he didn't drive it into the ground.
There are 31 QBs that play their teams out of the playoffs every year. Damn every Jets QB of the last 40 years has done that.
How many puddnheads does it take to slobber a washed up, overexposed, overrated selfish prick of a quaterback's knob? edit: now we know why ur head's full of puddn
You guys really do rag on him too much. He probably is selfish to some easily recognizable degree, but he just loves playing football. He does throw too many picks. But, over-exposure isn't his fault, that's why a lot of people get fed up with him. The media ask him questions, he says whats on his mind. I bet you have wishy-washy times too. For instance: "I should start looking for a new job, this one is seemingly pretty dead end." Then, 5 days later, after you have started job searching on the net at work, they hire a new hottie for you to train and you decide to stick around for a while.
Lets not lose sight of the fact that he's really not all that good, even when he's young and healthy. Above average, sure. But the guy's never been Joe Montana or Johnny Unitas for fucks sake.
Frankly, I never thought he was any improvement over Pennington, considering how the Jets used to beat the Packers like ragdolls whenever they played. And lo, looky here what happened this past season?
Uhh... 12 of 32 Starting QB's wind up in the playoffs. My point was that he put his selfish individual goals ahead of the team's.
If you saw the rest of the Jets as playing like they were bound for the playoffs in December, then ... you were watching different ballgames than I was.
I saw a team that could've won the seahawks game and the dolphins game in december if it wasn't for 3 interceptions in each game. Which wins us the AFC east, btw.
Yeah, it wins the AFC East because we'd beat the dolphins the first time, as well as the Patsies in foxboro and the Titans in nashville, and the shootout against the Cards, making us 8-3 gong into that stretch. Can't have your cake & eat it too. p.s. don't recall three interceptions in that seahawks game. Again, you were watching different game than me. But I do recall the Jets getting outrushed in both those games, both in total yards and ypc. And the defense really stinking up the field, letting offenses that other teams had stopped cold in prior weeks, pile up yards. And a certain ex-Jet receiver not even bothering to finish running routes or go for the ball. But i guess none of that mattered. Favre was supposed to carry the team I guess, even though injured, even without a #1 receiver that gave a damn. Seems like you're beating a dead horse here that Favre sucked in the last games; I certainly don't dispute it. But if that's all you saw going on (or rather, not going on) in those final weeks then ... have fun with your flogging, by no means don't let anything else that was going on at the same time distract you. If you really think BF was the only Jet playing below playoff caliber football in December, I think we just have to agree to disagree. And at least BF had the injury as a partial excuse. I can only imagine what you think the explanation for the rest of that steaming caca was. Mangini f-ing it all up, no doubt.
A Green Bay news outlet just reported that the Favre family booked a whole floor of rooms in a local hotel for the first week in November. Coincidentally they booked the rooms the same week that the Vikings come to play the Packers. What a loser!
I was talking about the year he played hurt in GB to keep his continuous playing streak going to the detriment of the team. It was a reply to a comment about my original post on this thread. You should know that because you replied to it He played the Packers right out of the playoffs one year because he played with injury just to break the consecutive game record. The guy has always been about himself...
Favre is an easy target for being a me-first guy, and I don't dispute that... but many players, even the most team-oriented guy probably in history, Curtis Martin, would play through injuries even at the detriment of the team.
