See, like 17a I thought u were referencing the bottom pic. But ur right, the top pic is def facing West. I asked which section u were in because I wanted to get my bearings on which Section of the Stadium has the sun in your face and which has the shade. Originally, thinking u were referencing the bottom pic, I thought u had seats in the sun, but now that you're talking abt the 1st pic, ur sitting in the shade. That's where I hope I get seats for when I'm offered them. Good seats.
The "shady" and "sunny" sides of the stadium are really misnomers. In the Upper Deck at a sunny 1PM kickoff, the entire Upper Deck will be in the sun. But it's a question of which way do you want to face as the sun gets lower and starts setting. I wanted the "shady" side because I want the sun on the back of my neck, not in my eyes. What's your seniority date? Are you coming up soon?
The sun angles also change as the season moves along from September to December/January. A 1:00 September game is totally sun-splashed, by December it's more shadowy because it's dark by 5.
that mezz looks like it is going to suck a fat one for 400 bucks a game. i really cant believe there is no cover for just about any seats in this cess pool of a stadium, guess they figure everyone can watch from the HUGE concourses.
My seats in the Mezz would have cost me: $400 x 4 = $1600 per game $1600 x 10 Games = $16,000 This is your annual cost AFTER you give the Jets $7500 x 4 = $30,000 PSL. Compare that to my new seats: $105 x 4 = $420 per game $420 x 10 games = $4,200 Zero PSL Let's see. Do I want to spend $16,000 per year on Jets tickets or $4,200 per year? And do I want to tie up $30,000 and be on the hook but good or do I want the ability to walk away if need be? The decision wasn't a hard one to make.
When you look at the numbers you can see the absurdity of it all. Look at it this way, for a guy who purchases those $400 seats, in five years will have spent over $110,000. WOW.
Yes, 5 years and $110,000 vs. 5 years and $21,000. And two of the games are absolutely worthless, so we're basically talking about 8 games a year. Is it worth spending an additional $89,000 over 5 years to get a little better view of the field for 3 hours, 8 times a year? I guess it is if you're Bill Gates, Steven Spielberg or Warren Buffet. Woody is out of control.
Agreed...it makes Giant's stadium look pea size. The new staduim is much larger, less seats as you stated. Concourses, Restaurants (Food outlets), Luxury Boxes, Press Boxes etc....are much larger and take up alot of room. Public areas in the stadium won't feel as cramped as Giant's stadium.
The sad thing is, I never felt cramped Giants Stadium. Maybe because I just expected a crowd in various places like the restrooms.
I just can't see how people can justify such an expense, unless like you said they are wealthy. No offense but I don't really see a "wine and cheese" crowd at the Meadowlands on gameday.
There is roughly 5% more capacity in the new stadium than in Giants Stadium. As far as "public areas," I've never gone to a football game and concerned myself with room in the public areas. I go to watch the game and spend 95% of my time in my seat. The only public area I'm concerned about is the room in the parking lot. That's where we hang out and that's our public area. Amenities impress me not one iota either. I don't go to football games for the amenities but I supposed some do. Again, I just don't care how fancy a place is... doesn't concern me one single bit. I go to tailgate, throw some footballs around, get into talking with other Jets fans, being with family and taking pictures in the parking lot and go in and watch the game. The rest is all fluff to me.
Only getting in and out before and after games. Then again it is, you know, a stadium. You've got 80,000 or so going to one place at one time, there's going to be a crowd. Aside from the name and colors--which could have been changed a lot easier and cheaper--I think we can all agree there is nothing wrong with the current stadium from a football fan's perspective.
I agree, I go to games for the game.....not all the other crap. Sadly, everyone's PSL's are paying for all the extras.
People are going to be saying the same thing when they demolish the new stadium in 2030. I can just hear the PSL crowd bitching now: "But I just got done paying off my old PSL 5 years ago. Now they want me to fork over $150,000 for new PSLs for a new stadium that we don't even need? Bullshit!" What a screw job.
also lot 18 and the bus parking lot are both repaved.i fully expect new parking lines to be painted and 1 spot per car enforced.
nobody is paying $400/seat for the mezz. I guarantee you will see the Jets drop those those Club mezz prices
