Figured this would be a nice place for us who are not buying the PSL's to post our tailgates and get some great pix up as the season goes along since Preseason is just about 2 weeks away!

Also, post some nice memories of seasons past, both good and not so good...

I know some of you ol' timers have some incredible stories from years past!

Things I've seen that have stayed with me.
    - Mo Lewis' Elway interception
    - Don Bebe getting knocked out
    - Chrebet's final catch
    - 41-0 vs Manning
    - Final game vs GB to get into the playoffs
    - Eric Allen's return on a Boomer pass after we were up 21-0 and knocked Cunningham out we still lost to Bubby Brister.
    - the Monday Night Miracle ( I stayed til the end!)
    - Watchin Johnny Johnson run 95+ yds and NOT score a TD on that drive and lose to the bears...yuk
    Just to name a few.....

What's sad is that we all knew he would get caught as he wasn't the fastest player
but we also knew they'd muck it up and get nuffin' cause we were the JETS.

    shit, wait...
We still are the JETS right

Great idea for a thread!

My best memory was the last week of the 1996 season. We were horrible, but it was a very fun game between the 1-14 Jets and Marino's Dolphins. We lost, but it was great. Hugh Douglas returning a fumble, Chrebet fumbling constantly. The end of Rich Kotite. Good times. And I was 5 rows from the field behind Marino. Pretty cool for a kid.

My memory of every single Jets game I've attended is the same. The team sucked, as they lost all 6 games....

The Packers game the week before the 41-0 drubbing of the Colts was a great day...What a great week in Jets Football!

I have some great memories of tailgating from when I was a kid, before I moved to Texas. Shame the team swallowed horse cock back then.

Gee, so many, but the Monday night miracle because I remember hanging in the lot, burning a fire, listening to the post game on the radio drinking a beer around 02:30 am in the morning just glowing from the greatest jet comeback ever. Just for 60 minutes of football, it would the 51-45 or whatever it was OT win against the Dolphins and of course the Packer game because of the situation before our game. There you go, three different scenarios, before, during and after. I am lucky enough to have 29 years in and will be sitting Uppers for the next 29 years with some Championship memories.

Nice Thread! Jumbo Elliot in center, catching a pass, Marino running in the damn TD, Coles dropping pass after pass with Vinny in the Monday Night Miracle, Wayne cathing everything thrown to him within 10 yards,C-Mart being option number 4 on passing downs, Vilma, Abe, man....... I'm almost sorry this place shall be gone. Lots of good and crap memories, but sadly, even more for me at Shea. 38 years and still damn rooting and watching. 38 years and still a Jets fan.

I was 13 years old, october 3, 1993 vs the Eagles. It was my first jets game and I had just bought a johnny mitchell jersey the week prior. Mitchell had 7 catches for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns. To this day, it was the best performance I have ever seen in person by any tight end. I really thought we had something special in Mitchell. Not sure if any of you remember this game, but we were up 21-0 and lost the game 35-30. I will never forget that game

I've only been to 2 games, and unfortunately the memories weren't so great. I remember watching the jets put a major beating on the Browns for 1 half of football and even watching my favorite player at the time, Santana Moss, take a punt return to the house. Only to watch a 21-3 lead (I think? It was close to that) disappear in the 2nd half as the jets collapsed like so many times early in 2002. Watching John Hall get his FG blocked to end the game that would've atleast forced OT was the icing on the cake for that game. Luckily that season turned out well in the end.

The only other game I attended was a pretty historic one, as we lost 2 QB's for the season in a span of a few plays (Jets - Jags 2005). The whole game was quite chaotic. From chad going out, Fielder in, Fielder out, Chad back in, Chrebet's bobbled "TD" that would've won the game that was overturned, then eventually losing in OT. Although it was the first time I noticed that Rhodes would be a special player after making a clutch interception in OT.

Being there is such a better experience than watching it on TV, but my experience there has never been great for the team actually winning.

    A few memories of mine...

Jets vs Houston Oilers December 1, 1996 broke the NFL record for most no-shows in a cold rain but I was still there.
Miracle at the Meadowlands I was there until the end.
    Vinny's QB sneak.
Jags and Colts playoff games. 18 years of season tickets and 2 home playoff games
Packers game and the laugh I got that I was one of the few who sent in my playoff money and everyone else was coming up with ticket plans to line up for the next morning.
Wayne Chrebet and Curtis Martin days during the 2007 season.

If anyone wants to see my tailgate page since we're talking about that there are more memories since I don't have enough posts it's on myspace and you put newjerseyjetstailgate13b after the myspace url.

Our first year tailgating with the trailer in the backround. About 2003. Used to be in parking section 4H but have been forced to relocate by the Jets shop tent outside Gate C.

The trailer may have to be retired this year due to a broken axle.

    Some that I love, personally.

    - Beating the Steelers in '07. We were flooded with their fans and to beat them was fucking awesome.
    - Favre 6 TD game
    - Steelers snow game. 6-0 game but it was alot of fun.
    - Rams blowout last year. Never seen a team manhandled by the Jets so badly.

    - Mo Lewis walking past our tailgate and being nice enough to come over sign some autographs, take some pictures and have a beer and a burger.
    - O'Brien to Walker in OT against Miami
    - Lyons giving Jim Kelly "the business"
    - Wayne Chrebets last catch.....a 1st down!!
    - Dennis Byrd being carted off the field
    - Meeting Mark & Lisa Gastineau after a game in '84 getting Marks autograph and a picture with Lisa...I was 14.
    - The Monday night game when Namath's #12 was finally retired.
    - Having the cops come by our tailgate and saying "guys the game ended 3 hours ago...it's time to go home." Asking him to have a heart that we are all married and going home to watch Desparate Housewives just plain sucks... He said OK 15 more minutes!!

I have been to most of the games at the meadowalnds since we moved there in '84 but I'll post my TV and live memories.

    TV:

1984: The first game opening up w/ a KR for TD but still losing to Pitt, the helicopter play
1985: Mon Night vs. Miami, beating Cle to get to the playoffs, losing in the WC game to NE(the first ever playoff game at the meadowlands, the giants would host their first playoff game there the next day)
1986: 51-45 over Miami, beating Den on MNF, the WC game vs. KC- Kevin MacArthur
    1987: the replacement games
1988: 45-3 over Houston, beating the Giants the next week.
1989: Fake FG week 1 for a TD against NE, Scott Mersereau's INT against Atlanta, losing 37-0 to Buf to end the Joe Walton era in week 16 on a Sat afternoon.

    Live:

1987: my first reg season game at the meadowlands- a loss to Buffalo
1988: beating Indy(the first win I saw in person) w/ Joe Klecko playing for Indy and Eric Dickerson falling in the FG net
1990: started going to every game, my first game we beat Cle that was clinched on a late 1st down run by O'Brien, Terrance mathis' 98 yard punt return against Dallas.
1991: Beating Vinny and the Bucs week 1, dropping a 6-3 game to NE in week 16 and thinking our season was over(thankfully SD beat Miami though)
    1992: The Dennis Byrd game
1993: Crushing NE on a Sunday Night then going up 21-0 the next week against philly- it all looked so promising at that point.
1994: Mo against Denver and the OT win in the home opener. The hit on Don Beebe, the fake spike which turne dout the be the best thing for the franchise.
1995: leading 24-3 against Indy, losing 27-24. The embarrassment against the Raiders on a Sunday Night
1996: Keyshawn's first TD against Indy and the lightning delay during that game
1997: finally winning at home again beating Oakland on a blocked FGA. Win over bal in OT and in 1st place in Nov.
1998: The best year to be a Jet fan in my lifetime. The Vinny sneak, the celebration in week 17 as we had alreayd clinched the div and a 2 seed.
1999: Vinny going down, fans plead for one more year from parcells in week 17.
2000: last home win vs. NE, Mon Night Miracle, loss to Detroit.
2001: losing to Indy opening day then 9/11 2 days later.
2002: greatest game I have been to- GB in week 17.
2003: snow game against Pitt the day we captured Sadaam, beating the red hot Titans on MNF where I think I almost died b/c I was so sick.
2004: The lamont pass against Bal, beating Seattle(My wife's last game before our son was born).
2005: seeing Chad go down again against Jax.
2006: nearly beating Indy at home, great almost comeback against NE, clinching playoff spot vs. Oak
2007: Chad getting hurt again, taking my son to his first game against Philly
2008: blowout of Arizona, humiliation of having Chad lead his new team into our building to win division.
