Brick needs to remember the only position he plays is on the Offensive Line. I know they are an important unit, but even if they are the best in the league by far (which is what I think he believes they will be, and maybe why he is so over-confident), that still does nothing to guarantee a Super Bowl or even a winning season.....
Love that confidence. This team is already light years ahead of any point in the Mangini regime because they believe they can actually do something with the pieces in place.

I'd love to witness a Jets Super Bowl win.....and I like Brick's enthusiasm. But with this year's schedule....realistically....we're looking at a .500 record.
Yeah man with all the question marks we have I have a hard time chalking up more than 9 wins. I see anywhere from 6-9 unless a lot of the answers to the question marks turn out to be studs.

Right now, I will settle for playing in January. Winning the super bowl again would be off the charts. A long wait that will finally be over.
So let me get this straight: It's fine to go into every season with unrealisitcally high expectations for your team, and the vast majority of the time have them go unmet, but the people who predict realistic results and set their expectations appropriately are in the wrong? When the team is good enough to be a championship contender, the fans who watch the game and analyze the team based on football and league knowledge will gladly and clearly acknowledge the team's ability. Optimism and championship expectations every season are not the same thing at all. Not even close. How you think that having the last laugh is the result of expecting a championship every year then finally getting one, as opposed to being realistic every year then predicting one when you know the team is ready and actually seeing it happen, is beyond me. That's like saying a boxer who fights guys above his level and gets KO'd 9 times, then lands a lucky punch to beat the 10th guy for the title is better than a fighter who works his way up with manageable opponents then fights the champ and wins the title when he's ready. I'm pretty sure you'd be the better and more successful (by percentages) fighter if you took an approach that gave you realistic expectations for success as you went along, then geared up for the big showdown when you were ready for it.
