I remember not to long ago before the season started, people were all backing TJ. Where are all the supporters at now? Im patient when it comes to the ground game but we cant put all the pressure on the rookie QB's back. I really thought we should of traded him at his highest value when he was AFC leading rusher. Then we could of gotten high market value from him.. I think after this year he is done and we will trade him away. Hopefully he can get another thousand yard season so we could at least have a bargaining chip. Why is Shonn Greene M I A? he should be getting reps here and there so he could get some play time next season..
I'm not sure they didn't try to trade him and had no takers. I wouldn't trade for him now, would you? Even before the season started.
no one runs against the Titans. He needs to show up against the Saints though. Need to chew up clock in that game and limit the Saints offense in the dome.
It's not just Jones, Leon isn't running the ball well either and it starts up front. This is mor an OL problem than a RBs problem.
There has been about 50 thread topics on our rush problems- THE BOX IS STACKED. LAST YEAR FAVRE OPENED THE HOLES WITH HIS ARM. 8 MEN IN THE BOX SUCKS- When is out running game going to pickup though??
hes been pretty bad all three games in my opinion.....too inconsistent, yea he had a nice couple runs but he has to help sustain drives and take some pressure off sanchez. He has to be more consistent, it seems like if you just touch him he falls.....
So then the problem would have to be the play calling (and I for one think part of it is). You don't run up the middle as the Jets do 99 out of 100 times when the box is stacked. They need to give Sanchez the ability to call an audible when he sees it.
If we can trade Harris and picks for Marshell, maybe we could then use Marshall and a few more picks, maybe throw in Rhodes for Peterson.
I'm not in agreement here. Washington had 12 carries yesterday for 46 yards (4YPC). Jones had 14 carries for 20 yards (1.43 YPC). Both ran behind the same O-line that I'm aware of. Jones is being too selective in his choice of running lanes and maybe a step or two too slow in hitting it. He also goes down immediately upon contact. Time to think about injecting Shonn Greene into the mix.
Exactly- I think against the Saints many options will open up. I think they are the weakest defense we've faced so far, especially in the running game. A rookie calling audibles this early would be pretty rare. He has his 3 or 4 options to call from the formation they're in, but he's not going to go Peyton on anyone just yet.
I'll argue with that. Leon may not be getting a ton more yards, but he hits the hole and tries to gain yardage. TJ was dancing behind the LOS because nobody had opened the Lincoln Tunnel for him. He's doing the same crap he did at the beginning of last season. I think he's playing not to get hurt so he can get a payday with some other team next season.
AHA! Ya Think? Give the man a game ball! DING-DING! At this point, if Shonn Greene is not good to go, I'd almost rather see Tony Richardson pound the rock. I'm sick of seeing TJ hit the LOS and crumble into a heap.
I think all of the teams we have played have stacked up against the run because w e have a rookie QB and they are more or less saying, "Beat us with your arm" and all the pressure has been put on Sanchez, who has come through. Yes, he has made some mistakes, but all in all, not too bad. That is why our running game has been stalling at points. Especially early in the game. The good news is that if teams keep stacking the box and trying to get the QB to beat them, he will.............I am confident Sanchez can carry the load. On paper, he is a rookie, but he does not play like a rookie, except for occasional mishaps............nobody's perfect. I am not worried at all about this team. We are not going undefeated this year.....get real. But, we will win our fair share and we have a very realistic chance at getting to the post-season.
