There is a very good chance that Schotty will be gone come the end of the season. If so, I would like to interview, Chad Pennington. He suffered yet another season ending shoulder surgery, and will most likely never play professional football again. Now, Chad has more football intellegence than any other football player I have ever heard about. He was pretty good for us before the first shoulder injury. He has experience in the existing system. He is a excellent game manager. He is a great leader. We have a yound QB, that can and would learn a thing or 2 from Pennington. Given the physical attributes of some of the greats, could have potentially been the best QB ever. He will be a coach one day, why not give him a shot. I think him and Ryan would be a great meld. Of course, given he doesn't hate Tanny, and Woody. Thoughts?
Uh no, not a chance in hell. Please tell me you didn't take more then a nanosecond to come up with this idea.
Wait... what? And no, I definitely wouldn't hire him. Make him prove to be a good OC first. His lack of an aggressive nature would prolly make him the most pussified OC ever. So, no thanks.
aside from the nonsense that this thread is, he could very well score a head coaching job after this season
Upon further review, I would love to know the exact date when "dink and dunk" was first written or uttered in a football context. I'm positive that ten years ago, this was not a part of football parlance. Was Pennington the catalyst for this term?
Schotty could get a HC at prolly 15 teams and I bet he will be a helluva HC too. That being said: Are you fuckin serious???
I think the best chance he had was 2006. Not only don't I think there's a 'very good chance' that he leaves after 2009, I think it's a tiny chance. He has pretty much done little since that point to justify that much interest. If Sanchez is the real deal, and Schotty is a good OC after the jury comes out, I think he may actually hang around for a while to see if they can win some rings. A Super Bowl OC makes a lot more money gets a lot better opportunities than a flash in the pan.
Very true, and I hope its accurate. I know the jury is still out on Sanchez but I can't remember being this confident in the Jets in a very very long time..
