You're joking, right? Keep Pennington and his pussification far away from Mark and his dare to be great attitude.

An OC one year after playing? Are you kidding me? The only player who has a chance to be like that is Peyton Manning and that's only because he basically has 6-7 years experience at that position already (not sure exactly when Tom Moore actually handed the reigns over).

If Schotty leaves and Cavanaugh gets bumped to OC then Pennington might become the QBs coach if he gets cut by Miami and every other team sends him a letter that says "Go fuck yourself!" before his agent even has the chance to call them.

To answer your questions, yes I'm saying Pennington has never coached players he was leading...whatever that means. Do you need to have the title of coach to be a coach...yes absolutely. Do you need to be paid to be a coach...no. OK next one could CP diagnose a QB's technique, probably could. Could CP diagnose a WR's technique, probably could. Could CP diagnose a RB's technique, probably could. And the FB's, OT's, OG,s, C's, TE's etc.

U r not saying that he is ready, so y do u put in ur thread title that he could be the Jets offensive coordinator next season. Is he gonna be ready ready next week, or maybe by December. For the lack of me being nice Einstein, did you ever think that there is something to coaching. Maybe, just maybe they know something, and there is something to it that maybe you start off at the bottom of the ladder. And you work your way up as you learn how it works, ah no I guess not

Penny is so knowledgeable that he shouldn't waste his time starting off as OC here. Why not just go HC in Cleveland? I mean, he's the smartest player ever, and since it hasn't been proven that he can't coach, he should definitely run the Browns team. I know he can do it.

This injury could work out for pennington. If henne sucks it up this year he will easily be in line to be miami starter next year.

too early to have chad in that position. a good example of what will most likely happen to chad is the jason garrett progression in dallas. he was a smart qb but not a good qb on the field (chad was better on the field but its similar in the sense that his mind was better than his ability.) who worked his way up from qb coach to OC over time. this is what chad will have to do and should do so he can see the game more from the other side before he is thrust into being an NFL level OC.

I agree with this post. I think Chad could be a very good coach in this league. OC right away will never happen. I wouldn't mind him on our coaching staff in some capacity though.

I would like to see Pennington solve the hydrogen storage problem and save us from global warming.

How ridiculous! Chad will not continue in Football , if his career is truly over. I see Pennington going back into Journalism or Becoming a professional golf player!

I doubt Chad will pass up the opportunity to be 2010 Comeback Player Of The Year, anyway.

Actually, yeah, didn't he earn his degree in Broadcast Journalism? Because of his love for the game and being a genuine student of the game, I can see him as an analyst.

Come to think of it, he and Herm should have their own show!

Herm will just make him sit behind Vinny until the 80000th time Vinny calls Herm "Jim".

Yep, and I'm definitely good with that. He was quite effective as OC for the Raiders. He just doesn't have the goods to be a head coach in this league again.

I'd be more on board with this if not for Vernon Gholston.
