You are very wrong actually. Ive been optimistic since the day rex ryan stepped in as head coach. In july, everyone was telling me to be content with an 8-8 and 9-7 year and I felt strongly that we could do much better despite rookie hc and qb. Once again ill spell out my point plainly, im almost starting to dilute due to constant repition: In my humble opinion, If i were to pick one reason we dont make a superbowl appearance this year, its the rookie qb. I am still very optmistic that we can make an apperance and even win a superbowl, but sanchez is the only thing giving me anxiety. The Ben roethlisberger point was a very good one though, and makes me a little more comfortable with sanchez. I shouldve just titled this thread "Sanchez needs to protect the ball and manage the game and we can make a superbowl appearance" howboutdat?

That would be infinitely better. I'm not suggesting we can put the team on his shoulders this year, just that I disagree that there were better options readily available to us. No part of the offense is particularly effective right now, although I do feel the running game woes have been overstated on this board. The difference between trotting out a poor fit vet and our prized rookie is that, with Sanchez, we'll see growth in the offense throughout the season and place ourselves in a better position to contend both this year and in the future.
