Girardi did it to get a lefty to face Mauer.
    That worked out well.

Absolutely. It's going to be awesome when he's a Yankee in 2011.

Cry me a river, Twins fans. I can accept many teams crying about the Yankees payroll, but not Minnesota. Carl Pohlad is one of the richest men in America, he just chooses not to spend his money on his baseball team--the Steinbrenner family does, and that's the difference between the two franchises.

You gotta love A-Rod and Tex being the guys who come through in the clutch. There's not even that much to say, just fun fun stuff.

Was at the game...all I can say is...well I can say 2 things.

    1. Called Joe Nathan blowing that shit. If there's anything one can do to put up Mo's greatness against anyone else, that showed it in a nutshell.

    2. Un-fuckin-believable baby.

So there you have it. After a full year of the Cashman plan thiugs are right where a few of us knew they would be, Brilliant. The only saving factor for Cashman is that they made the playoffs despite him instead of because of him.

Of course I am...I can't wait to hear how this is being all misunderstood and that Chamberlain was in actuality the best starting pitcher since Bob Gibson.

You know you're in trouble, Don, when you start making up positions for you to pretend the other guy held in order to say that you were right.

True point, my oversight. I'm sure that his son got a nice hefty inheritance though, plenty enough to pay Johan Santana if the Twins had wanted too for example.

So Cashman's decision to draft Joba and Hughes in the first place, then to hold onto them (there was huge pressure to trade Hughes espeially) means nothing? His structuring the payroll years in advance so that he could land Sabathia, Burnett, and Tex in the same offseason deserves no praise? His trade of Wilson Betemit for Nick Swisher isn't praiseworthy?
