YES! Sweep. Goodbye Metrodump. ARod was huge, the whole team was huge. Onto the Disney Ballclub. I want revenge for 02 and 05. HATE THEM.
Scared of the Angels, hate the Angels, anything else needed be said? Oh, FUCK the Angels! Let's go Yankees!
Actually, I'm kind of sorry that the Red Sox won't be joining the Yankees at the ALCS party. Now that the Yankees are back, we kind of owed them something from 2004. Oh well, Boston fans will add halos to their caps next week and root like hell for the team that crapped all over them in the postseason. Yankees-Angels is going to be a tough series. No Cindarella stories, just two big time teams going at it. Thank you Andy, A-Rod, Jeter, Jorge and Cano for tonight.
oh boy..please dont get me excited yet. Btw this angels team does not scare me as the ones in the past did. But the players will be even here...and their Ace is good. But thank god this time around we have home field advantage. Btw, I think I created a great thread *pats self on back*
Yankees-Dodgers would be epic numbers.. Yankees-Rockies would be a 4 game sweep..but the games would go to december due to snow delay Angels - Dodgers would lose to Re-runs of Seinfeld Angels - Rockies would force the MLB to fold
Anyone who uses the choke label on ARod again should be banned from the baseball forum for good. This is also why the choke label was so ridiculous to begin with off such a small sample size, one great postseason series and now it is gone for good. You can't stop players of his talent in big spots for long. Congrat Yankee fans, I can't see you guys having too much trouble with the Angels or any team from the NL for that matter. Championship #28? on its way.
So Arod pretty much single handedly wins this series although Jeter and Posada hit well too. Why aren't we reading about how pathetic Teixiera, Damon, Matsui, Swisher, Cano and Cabrerra were? Double standard?
It's not the first time he's ever had success in the postseason though, so the whole choke thing was inappropriate in the first place. But what's done is done now, so we can all move forward. And it's only #27. You mean the Teixeira who won game 2? hmy: ------------------ So, in hindsight, was it worthwhile to carry 11 pitchers, as opposed to the one more bench player?
yea, it's been our achilles for the past 3 years. We can skate by being 1 dimensional against the Twins, but the Angels we're going to have to out slug (as well as out pitch, obviously).
The hindsight of one series doesn't wouldn't make the decision worthwhile or not. But you'll notice that Chad Gaudin didn't see a single inning of work.
Someone check the IP. I don't think it's possible for one board to have two people who are never wrong. Chad Gaudin was warming up in the pen on Friday night, because he was the only bullpen pitcher the Yankees had left when they won. Erik Hinske's cleats didn't even touch grass over the series, and Hairston only made it in for the chance to run 90 feet in the 9th last night. If we carry one fewer pitcher for one more bench player, that bench player never gets into a game, and Girardi tries to stretch a reliever Friday night, and we're probably playing a game 4. Oh, and try not typing so fast trying to argue with me. You'll want to check your grammar next time.
