I was one of those fans that was showing up then, so your words ring hollow to me.

I could also make the argument that all you younger Mets fans just became fans after the 86 season, and just like a heroin addict kept waiting for the same high, which has yet to come.

I don't think I said that... but if that's how you want to take it that way go ahead.

It's alot easier to be a fan of a team that wins alot but I didn't say you weren't a fan if your teams stinks.

I'd hardly call your owner a great owner, he's the owner with the most resources and he utilizes them. Not rocket science. I'd call William DeWitt a great owner but not Steinbrenner. Sure he's better than Wilpon but my dog would be a better owner than him.

You know there is a difference between hatred and jealousy. Your a smart guy you should know that. Ollie hates Obama I'd hardly say he is jealous of the guy.

Ball park dimensions should be standardized like football, basketball and hockey. Home runs in Yankee stadium are a joke. Both Jeter's and Arod's home runs are fly ball outs in CitiField as well as most other stadiums.

Ugly win, but a win nonetheless.

And who cares who the Mets fans root for? Is that really relevant? Personally, I root for the Mets as my 2nd or 3rd team (and especially over the Phillies), but it doesn't matter.

2-0  But series isn't over.

In this case it's jealousy, at least that's where your hatred stems from. The Yankees are more successful, has more resources, and this absolutely KILLS you and every other Mets fan. It's not like the Yankees or their fans did anything to you personally, they're just better and you want to see them fail. You want to shut their fans up because you're tired of hearing other people celebrate their team, which is something you as a Mets fan have not been able to do for a long time.

Say what you want, but I will forever attribute a Mets fans hateful words to jealously.

It's worth pointing out that Steinbrenner certainly doesn't have more money than John Henry, Jim Pohlad, David Glass, and maybe a few other owners as well. The Yankees just reinvest so much of their profit into the team, which brings more money, which lets them spend more. If you've got a problem with it, bring it up with all the small market owners who have never once asked for a salary cap because they don't wanna spend up to a salary floor.

So if you were a Pats fan, you'd consider hatred from Jets fans to be jealousy?

BIG DIFFERENCE. The Pats are in our division, we have a huge rivalry, we have a personal bone to pick with their head coach, they've dominated the division for years - which prevented some good Jets teams from getting ahead, and what they do directly affects us every season. Not to mention the whole Spygate thing. We kind of have a history.

The Yankees are just crosstown rivals, and we've only prevented the Mets from winning a world series ONCE, and that's definitely not why Mets fans hate us.

They call Yankees fans cocky pricks and douchebags, yet THEY'RE the ones coming into a Yankees thread and rooting AGAINST us to our faces even though this series has absolutely no bearing on their team whatsoever. Now that's douchebaggery.

I'm boggled that NYM fans would be rooting for their division rival Philly against the NYY if those two teams were to meet in the WS. Rooting for your division rival on the grande stage? That's blasphemy.
