8 Weeks have now passed. I have put together who I thought are deserving of mid season awards.

    Code:
MVP Peyton Manning	QB	Indianapolis Colts
Offensive Player of the Year	Cedric Benson	RB	Cincinnati Bengals
Defensive Player of the Year	Darren Sharper	S	New Orleans Saints
Comeback Player of the Year Chad Ocho Cinco	WR	Cincinnati Bengals
Offensive Rookie of the Year	Percy Harvin	WR	Minnesota Vikings
Defensive Rookie of the Year	Jairus Byrd	FS	Buffalo Bills
Coach of the Year Josh McDainiels	HC	Denver Broncos

    All Pro Team
    	Peyton Manning	QB	Indianapolis Colts
    	Cedric Benson	RB	Cincinnati Bengals
    	Adrian Peterson	RB	Minnesota Vikings
    	Reggie Wayne	WR	Indianapolis Colts
    	Andre Johnson	WR	Houston Texans
    	Owen Daniels	TE	Houston Texans
Jon Stinchcomb	RT	New Orleans Saints
    	Jake Long LT	Miami Dolphins
    	Ryan Lilja	LG	Indianapolis Colts
Jahri Evans	RG	New Orleans Saints
Nick Mangold	C	New York Jets

    	Jared Allen	DE	Minnesota Vikings
    	Kevin Williams	DT	Minnesota Vikings
    	Marcus Stroud	DT	Buffalo Bills
    	Andre Carter	DE	Washington Redskins
    	Elvis Dumervil	OLB	Denver Broncos
Patrick Willis	MLB	San Francisco 49ers
David Harris	ILB	New York Jets
    	James Harrison	OLB	Pittsburgh Steelers
Darrelle Revis	CB	New York Jets
    	Leon Hall CB	Cincinnati Bengals
Darren Sharper	FS	New Orleans Saints
Brandon Meriweather SS	New England Patriots

    	Ryan Longwell	K	Minnesota Vikings
    	Shane Lechler	P	Oakland Raiders
    	Percy Harvin	KR	Minnesota Vikings
    	Josh Cribbs	PR	Cleveland Browns
The offensive line choices were tough so I looked at which OL's were doing the best and picked who I felt was playing better than the rest.

I chose a different player for offensive player of the year than the MVP because I wanted to add another player who was also deserving.

I know you meant Darren Sharper and not Woodson

i feel bad for Daniels. He was on his way to his first all pro selection and now his season is done.

Benson could also very easily win comeback player of the year.

Jonathan Joseph is having a better year than Leon Hall for the Bengals. Both are very solid corners though.

I'd object to Harris on the all pro team,I'm sure there are better players at the position and I reckon Bart Scott has been better this season.

David Harris has 65 tackles (7th in the NFL) 3.5 sacks 1 INT and 1 FF and 3 passes defensed.
Bart Scott has 51 tackles 1 sack and 0 INTs, FFs or PD's

I was thinking Jonathan Joseph too...Both of them are having great years. I chose Hall over him because he has 13 PDs and Joseph has 9. Hall also has 38 tackles over Joseph's 26. Hall also has 2 FFs. I also considered Asante Samuel and Aqib Talib.

Need more time before I would say Josh McD's is coach of the year. There was a TON of frustration with Josh among the pattycheat fans in NE.

Sean Payton is going to take NO to the SB, hopefully, FINALLY. Right now, I would say that it is Sean over Josh.

For FAVORITE coach, however, it is Rex Ryan...hands down!!!

I've been saying basically the whole young season that Jackson's playing the WR position better than anybody else in the league. I suppose I'd choose Reggie Wayne to be the other All-Pro WR with Andre Johnson third.

Good choices by Murrell2878. There's nothing to complain about.

Harris is great at moving forward, ask him to blitz or fill a gap and he'll cause problems.BUt ask him to read and react and he's not that good,he's really struggles to shed blockers that come to him.Although in fairness HArris hads got better against the pass.

Scott on the other hand is great at taking on blocks,he's capable of stone walling a defender or creating a pile.If you compare the two over a game,Scott will disrupte more plays. He's doing a lot of dirty work.

It's just my opinion of course,I actually agree with everything else.

I would put Drew Brees in to the OPotY, move Cedric Benson into comeback player. The only way you could argue against Benson is if you think the comeback award is for those who had it, lost it and then got it back, as opposed to Benson, who didn't have it and then finally got it. (That's the parenthetical "it," of course).

Byrd is the word. He should be a shoe-in even if he has a pedestrian second half.

No love for Sanchez? Harvin has been solid, but if you're looking at the first half of the season as a full body of work, Sanchez had four good games. One awful game is still just one game.

Sanchez has had two awful games (New Orleans and Buffalo).
Harvin probably has been the best offensive rookie thus far.

I would put Brees as OPOY and maybe Orton or Benson as Comeback Player of the Year. I have to agree with everything else you said though, hopefully Sanchez will have something to say about that offensive rookie of the year though.

Oh, and Owen Daniels is out for the season, I don't know if that matters or not in the All-Pro team though.

EDIT: I change my vote to Palmer for Comeback player

Orton winning the comeback player of the year award is not going to be the case in 2009. He did not have a bad season nor was he injured in 2008. I don't think Benson would get it either. He started to turn his career around late last season and did finish with 747 rushing yards.
Chad Ocho Cinco might be the best candidate right now.
If Matt Hasselbeck stays healthy the rest of the year and Seattle goes 7-9 or better and he has a few big games in the second half, he could win it.
