QFT. With the sophistication in today's NFL offensive schemes, I bet 99% of plays could be described by any OC's "language". This fact is proven out with what the redskins are doing right now (set aside the effectiveness of their offense), where Sherm Lewis is calling plays, and the OC is "translating" the call into the current language scheme for Jason Campbell. Changing an offensive scheme could be handled with minimal pain by keeping the language the same. The problem is coaches might have spent decades using one naming convention and it would be almost impossible for them to change. Promoting from within helps a lot with that.
The Pats haven't won a SB since Weiss left. Vinny had his lowest INT % when Weiss was our OC. Brady had almost no playoff turnovers and won 3 SB with Weiss calling the plays. I would take that fat f#%K in a heart beat.
QFT. Weiss understands how to exploit the edges and the soft underneath with the short passing game. Something Schottinthefoot does not.
I doubt Weiss would take an OC position anywhere other than New England. There will be plenty of HC positions available after the season. That said, if he were an option I'd take him in a heartbeat.
I am not really on the Schotty firing bandwagon but If we have a chance to bring back Weis as our OC, I will drive Schottenheimner out of town myself. Weis is the best OC the Jets have ever had, at least in my lifetime. There is no one in the league I would feel more comfortable with being in charge of Sanchez' development than Charlie Weis.
i dont see how weis could get an nfl head coaching job, he is failing as a head coach at notre dame even though he has brought in top flight recruits. he is not the guy i would want as my head coach at this point. however i would take him in a heart beat as the OC and that is i think where he will end up if he doesnt just take his money and run and spend time with his family and son. just as long as he is not the notre dame head coach at the end of the season. i would love for him to stay there in another capacity which i think is a possibility but as a close second i would take him as the jets OC, however it would be interesting to see him interact with ryan, charlie is a very high on himself kinda guy who doesnt feel he does very much wrong.
hey you. GM says you can figure this avatar thing out. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=51030&page=3 help me out here
Absolutely not. Wanna know why Weis is failing in South Bend? Because his out of control ego has alienated everybody in the program. Plus he is just about as buttoned down and straight laced as they come; it's obvious that he would have conflicts with Rex Ryan from day 1. Plus, it would be playing unnecessary games with the development of our rookie QB, the man we need to become the franchise player. I find it hard to believe that any fan who understands the game can look at the Jets and think, "Hey! Fire the offensive coordinator and everything will be better!" But I find it completely incredulous that people look at Notre Dame and think "Hey! We need that guy to solve our problems!" Sometimes I just don't get you people.
