There's got to be a better option than using starters to return punts. I was content with Revis holding down spot duty at PR last week, but Cotch has been injured and now they're putting him behind the 8-ball at PR where he will most likely be going from stop to full sprint in an instant - that's not good for the hamstring.
I think they should let Brad Smith return punts, he's dangerous enough with the ball in his hands and he has enough experience on special teams to at least play smart.
Were all of you in practice all week? Do you really want to put somebody back there that we don't have trust in to catch the ball. My opinion is that you put the best option back there that you know will be able to catch the ball and tell him to actually return it if there is nobody within 10 feet of him. I just can't imagine putting a guy back there who we have no confidence in. A muffed punt can completely turn a game around.
Our best offensive players are, the last time I looked...are Sanchez, Jones, and Edwards....like it or not, JCo is number two WR behind Edwards.
seems like they think hell muff them, he seems the type to start running before hes got the ball to me also. How long is leonard out for? i dont mind jericho in there for a week or so.
They must not trust Lowery for some reason because otherwise he seems like the most logical choice for PR duties.
I still remember the Giants letting Sehorn return kicks and he blew out his knee in a pre-season game against us and was never the same again. It caused me heartburn last week watching Revis returning punts...
After seeing his ST play against the Dolphins I doubt there's any way they would give him a look as the punt returner.
I think the coaching staff is more concerned about not messing up on punts then bringing them back to the house.
