Id like to see him be a dominate player and get a 100 yd game plus be a reliable receiver that when you need clutch plays he comes up big. if we are 3rd and under 10 make a catch and change the momentum of games
People want the Jets to have the O set up to not depend on Sanchez throwing the ball more and in more low percentage pass attempts. Then they complain when the wideouts don't make enough big plays. Edwards is not going anywhere. I hope, that is.
We have to worry about DT and DL, WR is not our worry going into the off-season. Braylon and Cotch are a fine 1,2. Clowney can continue to develop and maybe with a full off-season off practice Woodhead can be our shifty slot. I agree this is a run first game, just having Braylon makes that easier. It's hard to have a breakout game when the QB throws the ball 15-20 times.
The only thing in this thread that I like is the idea of drafting Shipley. I mean. He's so Chrebet-like.
I am making my bold prediction. Uncapped 2010. Braylon gets franchised to buy us one more year to try him out.
that is slightly more difficult to do when your QB is only completing 57% of his passes, and throwing for about 150 a game.... Oh and you guys are complaining we throw it too much as it is now! yet you want Cotch and Braylon and Edwards to average 100 yards a game. newsflash, you can't do it that way. Next year, when Sanchez has done some developing, we will have a more dynamic, and fun to watch offense with these three big weapons for Mark to play with, plus the big running game we still have, and oh yeah, maybe a slot receiver as well.
with the picks we gave up there is no way in hell braylon is going anywhere next year. I'm more interested in T. Jones. I know he is on the wrong side of 30 but he's 6th in the league in rushing and has 9td's with 5 games to go. How the hell can you let a guy like that go?
Caution tells me that TJ will just fall off in an odd fashion they way most 31 year olds do, but he's a special case. his salary is a little high, but an uncapped year negates that. its an odd situation. i've gone on record saying him staying may not be the better of the two decisions, but i'm changing my mind. The dude has been great for the Jets.
after last year and this year I dont know how you can just let him walk? I'm sure he's gonna ask for an unreasonable deal at 31 years old. Like 3 years 20 mill. something crazy like that so we may not have a choice. But the dude brings it every game. He runs hard every down no matter what the score is.
the Jets have him for one more year, but they can't resign him. Let him get his last big pay day somewhere else.
A RFA is "any Veteran player with three or more accrued seasons, but less than five accrued seasons." 2009 is Braylon's fifth season. I believe because if his tenure in the league, he is an UFA after this season, regardless.
In order for those plays to be incompletions what must happen? Drops!!! not all are drops some are throw aways yes but ive seen braylon hit smack dead in the hands and drop em or how he was running down the field with alittle coverage on him and miss a catch. You see how revis blanketed Smith but smith though he bobbled the ball still caught the pass in the endzone thats a good receiver.
We gave up quite a bit to get him, why would we let him go. More importantly I think he may actually enjoy being here. I don't see why he would leave either. He's always smiling and hanging out. When Sanchez got hurt, he came over to check on his Quarterback. Rex Ryan isn't Mangini. I think he likes it here. Give him and Sanchez an offseason together, he'll be just fine
Not going to happen this year. The offense doesn't involve the WRs until about halfway through the second quarter at best.
