Tickets are available in abundance. If you're such a tough guy then go buy the tickets and stop talking.
i wouldn't be suprised if clemens dropped it on purpose--- i know i would if the coaching staff can not even begin to warm me up in the bullpen after the starter throws 2 terrible ints in the first half---
And the fact that fans now have to pay PSL's to watch this garbage!!!! I can't help but laugh and then cry.
Even the people that showed up to the game were mostly whiny and halfhearted. People come to the game, spend the first 3 and a half quarters grumbling about how they just know the Jets are going to blow this one and then mutely walk out with their heads hanging down after they do. This team deserved to be booed off the field by the entire stadium yet everyone just walks out without saying a word with a minute left in the game.
Yeah did you hear that 75% of the REAL Jet fans come from LI and the LIRR and most of the roads were basically shutdown fuckface? The storm just stopped on LI at 11am, we got 2.5 ft of snow. I didnt finish digging my family out till kickoff time, I think it's more important to make sure my family isn't stranded in my house than watching this crapfest team. Don't get me wrong, I had full intentions of being there. But when the LIRR suspended service and couldn't guarantee me getting there it was a done deal. So blaming it on guys like me that have rooted for 35 yrs is plain fucking stupid. Go fuck yourself.
I had $200 invested and couldn't even get access to reliable public transport to get to the stadium, therefore missing the game. I put this squarely on the NFL and Woody Johnson. Let's not blame each other, were the victims here.
I don't blame the people that didn't show up. They're probably making a better statement about their displeasure about this joke of a franchise with the empty seats than I am. I blame the eyeores that show up every week grumbling about the same old jets then shuffle out at the end of another joke of a loss like some domestic abuse victim only to keep coming back.
Theoretically, there should have been NO empty seats because the game should have been played at 4pm to accomodate the fans. But what you were left with was jersey fans who basically count as half a fan. These losers get there late, leave early and whine the entire time and have eroded our fanbase. This is what we get for turning ourselves into the New Jersey Jets. Woody has basically said fuck you to Brooklyn, Queens and LI and this is what he gets in return...an empty stadium and no juice when it came down to crunch time.
+1 Maybe the Jets need to reestablish where their fan base originates from. My roots died Christmas 1993. That's when Fulton Ave. became a memory along with my grandmother. But the legacy of watching Namath practice at Hofstra doesn't diminish when I see the stands not packed on game day. I know that Jets fans will show up when things are sensible. When they put their existence above football. So hang in there Long Islanders, New Yorkers and those newer fans from Jersey. The snow will end and you will still be Jets fans, united in cause.
Good post. Sadly, the Jets are more about satisfying the "corporation" than the "community" the last few years. We used to be family, but now are just mere customers. Funny, the Giants still treat their fans with a modicum of respect. WoodyJohnson can go die and I won't care one iota.
23 inches of snow here. I tried to leave my neighborhood for 2 hours and couldn't. Who the hell are you to criticize?
