Wow, that couldn't have been a more dominant game. In the playoffs, if you can run the ball and play great defense...
i knew this would happen after Rex was hired.....we're entering a new era of Jets football. I didn't think it would happen this quickly though. I can't wait till Sanchez matures in this offense. Good on Rex for bringing a stifling defense and making this team a playoff calibre team
Easy guys, the win while impressive, was against a team that wanted to be doing anything but be playing game 16 tonight at the Meadowlands with a first round home playoff game already secured. Had the Jets defense been anywhere near this kind of dominant last week against the Colts with Manning in the lineup, I'd be real excited - it wasn't (not even close) and I'm not.
The NEW New York Jets? The same Jets who lost to Atlanta a few short weeks ago? The same Jets defense that couldn't get off the field last week against the Colts in Indy with the Colts starters in the game? The same Jets team that ran roughshod over a Bengals team with nothing to play for, who looked completely disinterested, cold, wanting to be on a plane back to Cincy...? I mean come on now, thrilled, yes, head over heels...no.
For all the talk about SOJ this week, we have (now) clinched three playoff berths at home in the last eight years in win and you're in games.
I'm not saying anything other than this team is built for this kind of football. Next weekends game is going to be a slugfest, and in a game like that, I like the Jets. Our OL pushed their defensive line all over the place tonight, and there is no reason they can't do it again next weekend. At the very least, it should be a good game.
