But if the Bengals are losing at halftime...they start to lose all their confidence.

i love rex cuz i think confidence and arrogance to a certain point are good traits to have...for example the belicheck rings and the ive walked over tougher guys going to a fight than channing crowder...thats arrogance but its funny...when rex and guys after our 3-0 start kept talking more and more we started losing...the last 5-6 weeks we have been silent and guess what? weve won!!!....the media and analysts have us as a joke for making playoffs which is fine with me! us fans know what we have...instead of the media saying wow maybe we should respect the jets cuz they have the number 1 d and number 1 rushing attack, the media will now focus on this ridiculous superbowl prediction and unless we make it to the afc championship game which would mean beating cincy and chargers/colts, our coach should and players should shut the fuck up and just keep playing like we have been in recent weeks....keep all that superbowl talk for later in the playoffs IF we beat cincy...jesus my rant is done...it just pissed me off

Consider this statement (By Rex) a way of getting the media to continue pissing all over the Jets' rep, and provide more bulletin board material. Rex is a motivator, and a damn good one at that.

We didnt have all of our secondary playing together for half the season. Toss in Two suspensions, and I say its equal.

As I said many weeks ago when this stuff started, (1) I find it easy to understand why the media eats this stuff up, and (2) I find it hysterically funny that some fans are so offended by this.

Does anyone seriously think that this has the slightest effect on what happens on the field? It's about talent, playcalling, and execution - that's it. For every Peyton Manning who is quiet, there's a Philip Rivers who is obnoxious. For every Sunday school teacher Tony Dungy there's a blowhard Bill Parcells. And speaking about Parcells, at least Ryan seems to just be saying what he actually thinks, unlike Parcells, who was so obviously manipulative, or like Belichick, who's just a liar.

Good god, he didn't say anything bad or talk shit about another team. He just simply said he thinks his team should be the favorite. For the life of me some Jet fans are like that stupid ground hog that is afraid of his own shadow. OMG what did Rex do?

Well he didnt take on another player. Like he mistakenly did against Crowder. He didnt take on another team like he did the Pats. He made a general statement.

This is a game, a fucking sport played for entertainment. Most of what Rex says is for laughs and entertainment purposes. This was just taking some of the "back-in" shit and turning it on its head and giving the Jets a little swagger. Some of the same people, to name one <cough> <cough> Alleycat <cough> <cough> , were singing Ocho Cinco praises even when he does talk some smack ( I love Ocho, he is a great entertainer and a shit load of fun). Yet when Ryan does it, it is uncalled for or putting a target on the Jets back. Really????????????????? Serious????????

Did he say the Colts,Bengals, Pats, Chargers , Ravens suck and are going to get destroyed by the Jets? No he did not. He said, The Jets, the team he coaches , should be the favorite. Good grief what is wrong with that? I would be more worried if he said " Well we have a Rookie QB, I am a Rookie, our passing offense is atrocious we will be lucky to give a competitive game to the Bengals".................

Jet fans that watch football for entertainment and then complain when they get an entertaining coach is just so typical. SOJF..... Same Old Jet Fans. They would ruin a wet dream.

^People just don't like to hear anyone talk, especially if they play for/coach the Jets. What do people want to hear?

"I wouldn't bet one cent on us," Coach Ryan said, "We're terrible. My wife has to talk the gun out of my mouth on a nightly basis. Why did I take this job?"

No, Jets fans would complain that he is too depressing and needs to be fun and jubilant and cocky and full of energy.

I think he said it just as his personal gift to thenganggreen.com. He wants us to get our post counts up.

If anything this is a good thing; the attention is on Ryan instead of the players. Little less pressure on Sanchez. Does it make a difference? Probably not. But it can't hurt.

I have to like this for the sole reason its who he is.

This man will not hide is love for his team.

If this were the medieval era, Ryan would be a beloved war general - think the movie the Patriot.

Get used to it, and smile when it happens. Should you take it seriously? No. It should entertain you? Yes. Let it entertain you. Let it be a laugh and reassure you that the head coach of your favorite football team is going to work his ass off to get you a SB.

To fear his trashtalking or find it foolish is to not to enjoy it as all in good fun... even though its his conviction.

    Smile at it.
