It's like an 18 year old co-ed: barely legal. McCray ONLY makes that hit because it's the QB and because he's not watching. He knows Warner has NO chance of making an impact on the play. Some people would consider it smart to take a QB out of the game. From an outside fan's perspective, I hate the impact it has. This game is now over beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Not even close, it was just a slant. Even the 46 yard pass was just a pass play with no fake. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2009092711/2009/REG3/titans@jets/watch#watch/tab:watch
Oh shit, it's their LG. I'm not going anywhere near that! Warner had the angle on Smith and was the closest one to make the tackle. Just because it is Warner does not make him untouchable. McCray would have lined up the same hit on a tackle, guard, RB, or WR. Warner being too slow to avoid it is not an excuse to pull up. If he's that important, he shouldn't be going after a defender like that. San Diego delenda est.
Are you kidding me? 75 MADE the tackle immediately behind the hit because McCray decided to take his shot on Warner instead. I didn't say Warner was untouchable, nor did I say that you shouldn't block the QB on INT returns. I hate the blind hit on a QB just because you can do it, just like I hate the blind hit on ANYONE when it has no impact on the play. It was close enough that there won't be a fine, but it was still cheap. And no, he shouldn't have pulled up; he should have blocked 75 and sprung the defender.
...and Warner's back. How is Will Smith going to get around two lineman? I know he's athletic for a DL, but damn. And how the hell was McCray supposed to see Levi Brown when he's standing behind him? San Diego delenda est.
"...with Randall Gay climbing up his back" Anyone else feel dirty after hearing that sentence? San Diego delenda est.
